The adapter is pretty much plug and play
I think it's serves it's purpose well. Although, the focusrite saffire pro 14 audio interface I hooked up may still not be compatible. I have communication but no sound out of my DAW, FLStudio. May have to switch to a usb unit? The adapter is pretty much plug and play, easy.

Simple easy install
A great firewire card for audio use. I'm using it with an M-Audio firewire 410 which are known for being glitchy with some firewire interfaces. This one has the TI chipset and works perfectly. I was so impressed with it that I also bought the pci-e version for my desktop PC.

Unabke to use
Gave it a three as i couldnt give it a true rating as i was unable to get the usb to express card to work properly. If i get it going i will update this rating. But if it performs anything like the converter don't waste your time.

Firewire adapter
Works like a champ. The advertisement could be a little clearer on the need for an power adapter. This could save having to make two orders instead of one to have a useable express card.

nice compact interface for a laptop.
Firewire is being phased out, but my new mixer (Mackie Onyx 820i) came with firewire. This little card (and a laptop with an Express Card slot) and now I have a recording studio at home. No problems, seems quiet, trouble free. Quite simple, really. I might get a second as a back-up, as this is a critical link in my home studio.

Works great!
Works great on my Windows 7 x64 machine and Focusrite Saffire interface which came out back in the XP days. The Texus Instrument chipset is one of the best out there
