This is the book to get for the new IB Math syllabus
The IB math syllabus has changed dramatically starting with the 2019/2020 school year and for first exams in 2021. This book reflects the IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches for the Higher Level syllabus. It comes with enhanced online access via web browser which means all the book content can be read online plus it provides, as PDF, teachers notes, skill checks and additional exercises, complete with answers, instructions how to use the most popular graphing calculators (Casio fx-CG50, TI-84+ C, Ti-Nspire CX) and animations/videos incl. transcripts (PDF). Access to the online course book is guaranteed until 2029.This books is structured logically and can easily be used for self-study. Each chapter ends with a chapter summary, review problems and exam-style questions. All answers can be found in the back of the book in the answer section. This is not your typical math book. Each chapter starts with one or more interesting introductory problems, referred to as investigation. Throughout the chapter critical thinking is challenged from a TOK (Theory of Knowledge) and Internationalmindedness point of view. The layout is visually pleasing. The whole chapter 12 is dedicated to the internal assessment (IA), what it is, how it is assessed and how to approach it successfully. This book concludes with three practice exams.I reviewed most of the new IB math books that have or are about to come out for the new syllabus and I was most impressed by this revision by Oxford. I am convinced this book will prepare the IB student perfectly for the final IB diploma exams. It provides a unique and valuable combination of book and online material.

Worst textbook I’ve ever used
I’m a high schooler, and I find mistakes in this textbook nearly every time I use it. I don’t even bother to check the solutions because there’s at least one mistake in essentially every problem set my teacher assigns. And the mistakes aren’t even subtle—they’ll add numbers incorrectly, copy the problem into the solutions incorrectly, etc. The explanations of concepts are convoluted and occasionally blatantly wrong. I’m enjoying HL math, but I would enjoy it more with a textbook that I felt I could actually trust.

So many mistakes...
This textbook is absolutely awful. About 40% of the solutions are blatantly wrong, from copying over the numbers wrong to basic addition/subtraction errors. The chapters themselves are very confusing to follow, with some (Chapter 9) switching notation in the middle with no explanation. We have wasted so much time in class fixing the mistakes of this textbook. Avoid it at all costs.
