Yes. There are at least two compartments that can hold kindle or 7" pad.

Q: Does this purse have rfid protection?

No, it doesn't and I was aware of that when I ordered it. Actually, it's a better strategy to purchase a separate RFID case or wallet so you can transfer it from bag to bag rather than paying extra for this feature for just one particular bag. I find that the less cool a travel bag is, the more practical since you can configure it to your preference by adding whatever cases/wallets/etc. you prefer. "Cool" features aren't always cool--100% of the time, it won't meet all of your needs and I've had it paying for those "cool" features that I don't really want. Your choice. For this bag, I only wish it were 2 inches taller to maximize museum bag rules of 12x12 dimensions. Not all museums or tourist sites have lockers to store large bags. This bag is deep enough to stash a rolled-up cardigan or light jacket plus whatever essentials you need while touring. I bought this exactly for that purpose.
