Defective product upon arrival
I am modifying my original review because circumstances changed. Amazon has agreed to expedite my refund, so I was able to repurchase the memory from the same seller. They also waived a one-day shipping cost in order to ensure I get the new memory by tomorrow. I have modified the star ranking from 2 to 3 stars, and as long as the new memory I receive actually works tomorrow, I will add another star.*******The product arrived extremely quickly thanks to Prime shipping, however the box was far larger than the actual ram sticks. I also purchased a couple additional items, but they too were small and everything must have been bouncing around in the box. Another item in the box had even come apart from the packaging and broken. Obviously this is Amazon's issue, and not the seller's, but worth mentioning nonetheless. When I installed the memory, my computer would not re-boot. It sat frozen on the gray screen for about 10 minutes before I tried shutting down and re-inserting the memory. I finally had to call Apple support, who walked me through some trouble shooting, to no avail. We finally decided to reinstall the original ram, and the computer started up without any issues. Obviously this was an issue with the memory sticks. I immediately contacted Amazon, who told me I would have to send the product back before they could offer a refund (which is understandable), but that they could not send me out a replacement since I am dealing with a 3rd party seller (not acceptable). Furthermore, they said if I wanted a replacement product, I would have to repurchase from the seller. Since I'm a student, I was installing the memory so I could work on a design project (on deadline), which meant I would not have a replacement in enough time unless I re-purchased immediately. Also, since I am a student, I can't really afford to float the money for a 2nd purchase, while waiting for a refund, ESPECIALLY since I have no idea whether or not the next memory sticks I get will even work.I tried contacting the seller directly via email, and immediately got a reply that it could take between 24 and 48 hours to respond to my inquiry. I did appreciate the seller including a contact phone number in the email so I could get in touch immediately. When I spoke to someone at the seller's office they were very polite, but basically told me there's nothing they can do to expedite my exchange and that it would probably take over a week for me to send my package back to them, then they would have to process the exchange and send me a new one. The whole transaction would take over a week. So, now I have no working product, and no viable solution from either Amazon or the seller. Frustrating. I gave two stars since part of this issue is with Amazon, not the seller: one for providing a number to call; two for being polite. I feel like even that is generous.

Apple Memory Module 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 (PC3-10600) - 2x4GB
I was told when I purchased my pc that the 4GB it had was plenty and I would never need more... HA! I thought about it when I purchased my iMac to upgrade the memory. I am glad I did not. The "genuine" ( designed in the US but made in China, etc. ) Apple memory is so overpriced. Did you know that Apple makes a 22.40% ( as of 03/31/2014 per yCharts; higher per Mark Rogowsky of Forbes ) profit?! So when I purchased my upgrade, I saved myself some serious money. Genuine apple memory would have cost me $200.00 per and I needed 2! But make sure you pay attention to the specifications for your own pc. If you purchase the wrong type, it will not work! Your iMac will not go past the boot up sequence. In my iMac I needed 1333MHz - DDR3 - PC3-10600 to get my iMac to work.I use Windows XP thru the Parallels program and 4GB just does not work well. I installed my modules myself and found that my computer works about twice as fast as before if not faster! Boot up has gone from about 4 minutes to 1 and I do not have the lag time I used to when booting up parallels and multi tasking between my iMac programs and windows like I did before. I definitely want to purchase another 8GB and increase my system memory from the current 12 to 16GB! Make sure you pay attention to the variables. My iMac is a mid 2010. If you purchase "laptop" memory versus iMac desktop or the mid 2010 or winter 2012 ( for example ) it makes a difference. Found that out the hard way, thou purchasing thru Amazon and returning for full refund was not a problem! Hope this helps you.

Performance Improvement
I ordered 2 of these 2x4GB Memory Modules (16 GB total) to replace the 2x2GB that came with my mid-2010 iMac and noticed an instant improvement in performance. Don't know how I survived without an upgrade for so long! These replacements seem to be the same (Samsung) brand as the OEM I pulled out of my Mac. I highly recommend them.Price is reasonable and, even with free shipping, I received them in less than half the time promised.

Noticed increased speed immediately.
Worked like a charm in my mother's 2011 iMac. We noticed a significant increase in speed right away.Installation for the iMac seems tricky, but it's actually quite simple. At the bottom of the screen (where the vents are located) there is a panel that is held in place with three screws. A standard Philips head screwdriver is needed. After removing the panel, use the pull tabs to loosen the existing memory modules (you might need to give it a good, straight-out tug), and then slide them out. Then simply align the new modules (they can only go in one way) and push them straight in until you hear a slight click for both sides. That's it. Start up your machine. To ensure the iMac recognizes a full 8GB of memory, just click the apple icon (top left of screen) and then click "About this Mac."Use the packaging to store the old memory. You wouldn't get much for it, so I recommend just keeping it as a backup in case you ever experience memory failure.

Faulty Memory Modules. / replaced!
My iMac, randomly after some powered on time, started to buzz like an alarm sound (3 very loud sounds in a row, repeated a few times) and then rebooted by itself. At first it was not that often, but with time the frequency increased, up to once a day. I ran a few memory test to no avail.I ordered in March 2018, 2 new memory Modules and replace those received in August 2016. The iMac has not rebooted a single time since! My guess is those "Apple Memory Module 8GB 1333MHz DDR3..." first installed are faulty. It may be only one of the 2 but which one ? And I need a pair anyway. Can I have them exchanged for new one ?** Update: I changed my rating from one Start to 5 Starts as A-Tech, even after almost 2 years, sent my 2 new memory modules to replace the faulty. Amazing service. Thank you.

Best upgrade!
My iMac 2011 was really getting slow with the Sierra and it took more than 5mins or a good 10 mins just to let it load with the 4GB stock RAM. I checked through the system what was installed and if to upgrade what part should be searched(Thanks Apple for making it easy for users to upgrade). Then i came here to Amazon to search for the part. and yes! it was here that i got 2 x 4GB Ram and checked to see if it matched to Apple's recommendation. Just Wow! my 2011 iMac now can match more recent laptops in speed and loading. I was happy with this upgrade too that my kid was able to do online learning for lockdown without having to buy a new computer. iMac is it!

Simple Buy and Install Procedure - Worked Perfectly
Simple install and and worked perfectly! Below is my experience:I got to the apple support page by Googling this: Install memory in an iMac site:apple.comI clicked on the page below to learn all about the memory I needed and how to install it: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201191I clicked the apple at the top left of my menu and then clicked "About this Mac" to see that my machine was: iMac 27-inch, Mid 2011), with 4 GB Memory total in 2 slots of 2 GBI DOUBLE checked the memory type numbers against the specific modules I was going to buy. in my case, the above apple support page said I needed: PC3-10600, Unbuffered, Nonparity, 204-pin, 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAMI checked the specs against this product to make sure they matched.I bought two packages of two 4 GB for a total of four 4 GB memory modules for a total of 16 GB (the max that my machine will handle.)I installed it using the procedure from the above apple support page and it booted up, now with 16 GB working perfectly! Thanks so much!

Game Changer
Installed this in a mid 2011 imac. The total install took less than five minutes from start to finish. The longest time was unscrewing and replacing the screws on the ram door cover. These fit in perfectly and have drastically improved my computer's performance. I will most likely buy more for even better performance or to put in a different machine.Keep in mind if you are looking: This set is for Mac's only. pay attention to the specifications.TLDR:as long as this is compatible for you. it's great.

Worked for a Year and Now Its Dead. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!The RAM sticks worked for my late 2011 MacBook Pro for about a year. After that, the computer started to shut down randomly and then not restart properly. When checking the hardware on the computer, it showed there were issues with the RAM. When the RAM was changed back to the stock RAM (which is now over 9 years old) the issues went away. Completely unacceptable and when I bought it I was thanked for supporting a small company.Spend a little bit more money on RAM from another company that is a little more reputable.

Easy install. Works perfectly.
My mid2011 iMac was struggling with only the original OEM 2 chipsets totalling 4Gb. Took me less than 5 minutes to install this upgrade just now, in the two remaining empty slots. Big performance difference after rebooting, and Mac OS reports 12Gb installed. So I’d have to say this was a very worthwhile purchase. If my iMac wasn’t so old, I’d order a second 8Gb and bump it up to 16Gb, but with Apple's tolerance for 'mix and match' RAM sizes (allowing me to add this 8Gb side by side with the original 4Gb) 12Gb is just fine. Recommended.
