You can't beat Gary Larson!

What can I say, if you like wiener dogs and far side you'll like this book. Obviously it's not all wiener dog art, but it's definitely good for some dark laughs!

Yes, I love dachshunds. Is there a therapy group for people like me?? At least I've noticed, that dachshund lovers are a strange breed. A good one, of course, full of intelligence and personality like the dachshunds, too...Anyway: Gary Larson seems to belong to us. Who else could have made Wiener art? On the cover there is some of it and inside the real treat: eight masterpieces of world class wiener dog art in styles of Rubens, Picasso, Dali, Munch... and with comments that make you laugh when you think you've already laughed your heart out at the pictures. The paintings are really good, Larson sure can do more than 'just' comics. I think I have to get more copies to rip out the pictures and frame them on my walls... And of course to give fellow dachshund lovers!Dachshund lovers - and anyone with a sense of humour - should get this!! It's fun, it's art and it's even cheap!

I get it: either you like Far Side or you don't. I for one LOVE Gary Larson's creation and this book is no exception. A must-have for the true Far Side fan.

Gary Larson always goes beyond the underlying meanings of events and creatures to give humor in things that often are overlooked or taken for granted.

Don't let the title fool you! This hilarious compilation of cartoons by Gary Larson, creator of "The Far Side" comic strip, is more than just a treatise on weiner dogs. In between the frequent Dachsundian dioramas are dozens of other Larsonian Lampoons of everything imaginable, from ants to zebras, from aliens to zombies and back again. It's not a very large collection, but it's stoked with some of the best off-the-wall humor that Larson ever created. Enjoy!

this is a must for any dachshund owner. it would also make a great gift. my copy got damaged by a leaky roof and I had to get a second. The picture of the bowl of wiener dogs cracks me up every time.

Absolument génial, comme d'habitude dans le travail de Larson. De plus, à l'inverse des "Far Side Gallery", dans celui-ci, un index très pratique ^^

Bought this for my mom one Christmas. She's obsessed with wiener dogs, and was quite amused by this book.

I collected the Far Side books as they came out, and had them all. Then I emigrated, and couldn't take them with me. Now I have collected them all again, and my kids (aged 9 and 11 years) love them!The book contains the usual quota of mad scientists, giant squids, women with beehive hairdos and so on, so if you like Far Side, you won't be disappointed. I regard this as one of the best collections from the series. It's well-worth considering  The Pre-History of the Far Side  as a next step if you haven't already read it. Then you might (only might) understand what's going on in his head...The cartoons in Wiener Dog Art haven't aged or grown old, and I still laugh out loud when I read the best ones. This book has a colour section in the middle, which adds a lot to the fun. The index is a stand-out feature, which you have to see for yourself. It's very silly. There are a lot of classic cartoons here which are generally international - I can understand most of the references, but you will always find the odd US cultural reference that hasn't travelled. My wife (an American by birth) can't explain all of them to me, but that's going to be true of anything from a different cultural background.
