Calvin and the Colonel Collection

Discs Don't Work.
I’m going to try to watch these on an actual DVD player instead of my console, but I’ve never had an issue like this. Disc 1 won’t play at all. Discs 2 & 3 get about halfway through its respective second episode before the Xbox 360 Slim delivers an error message reading “Attempting to read media”. Two stars for the episodes on Disc 3 being colorized- a pleasant surprise since I've only previously seen the series in black & white. Buyer Beware- I think these were haphazardly burned onto R-CDs and put out in a very short amount of time with little care. Considering a refund; disappointing because it's a rather good animated series otherwise.

"Calvin and The Colonel": The Animated Reincarnation of 'Amos and Andy'.
The first time that I had seen "Calvin and The Colonel", was on a cartoon compilation collection on DVD. As a cartoon affictionado, I thought that it was hilarious! Basically, it's an animated version of the popular radio and television series; "Amos and Andy", that was created by Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll. Except that instead of the characters being in black face, or in the case of the TV series; black actors; the characters are now animals who speak in a southern dialect. Gosden and Correll provided the voices of the characters; Calvin Burnside; a large, lumbering, cigar-smoking Bear, and his friend, Calvin Burnside; a sly con artist Fox. The episodes were basically rehashes of scripts from the TV series. What I also found to be interesting, was that this cartoon was produced by the same producers of shows like "Leave it to Beaver" and "The Munsters".
