Well written, nice pictures, good info, but a heads up if you live in Washington or Oregon, hybrid hazels cannot be shipped to you, and the book is geared towards the hybrids. Fortunately I was able to use the amazon trade in and get half of my money back, and the rest was worth looking through the book.

This is an interesting book to read. Hybrid hazelnuts seem like a great idea until you read the example business plan. If you want something interesting to grow then buy this book. If you want to make money then consider something else.

Good book, I know more about the hazelnut and it's cottage industry. Have enough information now to progress with planting a small plot of hybrids. This book will be a useful reference into the future.

The definitive book on everything hazelnuts! At least from a growing/production standpoint. Well laid out, well researched and easy to understand. These guys have learned alot about this very interesting crop and made it easy for new growers to gain quick knowledge.Highly Recommended!

Good book, but I was hoping it had more info on growing Hazelnuts and less on the reasons why to grow them.

Excellent detailed descriptions of soil, genetics, fertilizers, harvest and cleaning, in fact, everything necessary for the dedicated amateur to start a business. Please write the definitive book on chestnuts next!

Covered most everything I was looking for. Lacking for me the discussion on the Eastern Filbert Blight varieties, but that is not the focus of the book anyway, a different concept of growing. I suggest to also check out the production manuals from Washington State, Ontario and BC. Printed in 2015, 1st edition.
