Great for in the car entertainment and license plate searches
We purchased this puzzle to take with us on a car trip with our 7 year old niece, our intention was to add the magnets of each state we found a license plate for, but that wasn't near as fun as working and reworking the puzzle completely. :) I thought this was a nice puzzle map, not too small, not too large, the puzzle pieces "stuck" well enough, the board was sturdy enough and overall the map was educational. I read a couple of reviews mentioning that taking the states apart initially caused them some problems, so I was somewhat careful breaking them apart the first time, but had no problems. No torn magnets or separation of the backing. A few of the northeastern states (the small ones) are one piece (vs each state being a separate piece), but given the size of the states, I think this was probably best. A couple of the other small states were tough to keep track of as it was. I can see how a couple of the states (think UP of Michigan) could be easily broken if not careful, though we didn't have any trouble. I think if I had one suggestion for this puzzle, it would be a place to stick the pieces when you are solving because there's not hardly enough room around the edges of the map for all the pieces to sit. We ended up stacking them in a pile and storing them in a gift card type holder (similar to these Everyday Gift Card Holder Bundle (3 pack) ) which worked pretty well and kept things contained. If would be nice if it came with something like that though. Overall, we all enjoyed the puzzle, and it went home with our niece after the trip. Now, where it may be in the stack of toys she has is anyone's guess, but for the car ride, it was a hit.

Great puzzle for old and young
I use this map with my mom who has serious dementia to help exercise her brain. The puzzle being magnetic makes it perfect for her to work with easily. She enjoys putting the map together as well as remembering all of the states that she has been to or lived in. Anything that I can use to help my mom's memory and to entertain her is a real joy to have. The puzzle pieces stay in place even when bumped, picked up, or tipped over. This is a great puzzle for old and young, I definitely reccomend this puzzle.

Informative but not sturdy
I purchased this for my 4 year old grandson and it’s fun and informative but it is not sturdy. At his age, he doesn’t abuse his belongings so much anymore but nor is he particularly careful. If he gets frustrated he tries to force the pieces into place and they end up misshapen. Inevitably, pieces fall to the floor and if his 2 year old brother gets ahold of one, we can retrieve it but the damage is done. The material is fine but thin and thus too frail for the intended age of the user.

My kids love this so much that I got it for my nieces.
We have had this on our fridge for years. My kids still play around with it. As they got older, they got to know where each of the states went and what their shapes were. They enjoy it enough for me to get one for my sister's kids. I know it sounds funny to think that some kids have "fun" with some state-shaped magnets but, when I took the magnets down for a few days, they went looking for them. haha!

Great map!
Great product! The map is colorful and has fun facts about each state depicted. We’ve only had it a couple days but it’s given my 3 kids, aged 10-8, a better perspective on the states they were born in and have traveled through.

Beautiful, but only 1mm (1/32") thick!
Great tool for learning geography, but magnets are much thinner than I expected. They are only about 1mm or 1/32"thick in total. (I measured.) They are bendable/flexible magnetic sheets, not stiff, so I hope the laminated paper/thin plastic attached can hold up and not crack. I hope they survive the use they'll get.😊

Ok, but wouldn't purchase another
I wish the puzzles pieces were a bit thicker, more durable. They are very thin and connected out of the wrapper, so when taking them apart, you can really tell how thin they are. The smaller states really gave us a hard time and I can see how easy it would be to lose the pieces. Maybe if it was a bit of a larger scale and with thicker pieces it would be ok. The content itself is a good learning tool.

Great educational tool
My 7 year old grandson loves his magnetic map. My other grandson who is 11 also thinks it's pretty cool. It's a puzzle and it comes on a poiece of cardboard so it's best to get a metal baking sheet or board that hangs they can use it on. Some of the smaller states don't stick as well on my daughters fridge since it's textured so a board is best in this case.
