So all you folks that didn't see your seeds germinate probably followed someones advice to plant 1/4" deep - but that isn't how you grow oregano. Nearly every place that grows this will tell you the seeds need light to germinate. So if you are covering your seeds with soil, it can take upwards of a year before you see plants.Yes this is a tricky plant to grow, but follow the basics of simply sowing the seeds on top of your soil, lightly press them into the soil, and keep it moist and preferably warm. You should see plants in 10-20 days or so. Sometimes less.

The seeds were mailed to me in Massachusetts on one of the coldest day in winter. It was freezing outside. The seeds came in a small plastic bag inside a simple white envelope with no insulation and they were in my outside mailbox for hours. None of the seeds sprouted and I wonder if the freezing temperatures ruined the seeds. I did not plant all the seeds at the same time. I tried numerous times to get the seeds to sprout. The money I spent on them was totally wasted.

Seeded an area

We spread 50 seeds and it has been at least a month and we have 2 very small plants. Not sure the plants will survive. All the surrounding seeds (lettuce) germinated and are thriving!

The seeds were well packaged and arrived on time. I planted some in pots and some in the ground. Have to wait to see how well they germinate.

Nothing germinated. I tried indoor gardening, hydroponics, cold stratification and directly sowing them outside, but nothing worked.
