My granddaughter actually loves to work with the book. Very nicely put together, well organized and pretty inside. Much better than some of the very confusing books out there. We still will used the test prep books but this is better for actually gaining understanding something we seem not to do in the schools. Her class has yet to do any of the fundamentals or even prepare for the ELA tests and last year did not even cover the material that was in the test to after the test! I am very glad we bought this book because we cannot depend on the school or teachers.

These don't just check the student's reading, they train the student's reading skills. Very, VERY good workbooks.

Ordered this for my 4th grade son. Was apprehensive because he doesn't like to read articles/stories and write responses (didn't want to deal with meltdowns)...but he enjoys the articles/stories in the book and happily shares what he read. The questions asked forces him to think about what he's going to read or has read...which helps him be more thoughtful in his learning.

I bought this book after attempting, without success, to help my granddaughter comprehend what she reads.We spent the summer months doing the activities. which are easy to understand and FUN. At the end of summer.I felt my granddaughter was in a better position to be successful in the 5th grade. She learned HOW to read.I recommend this book to any parent/caregiver who cannot afford to put their child in the actual Sylvan learning centers.

Great tool for my 4th grader already improving her reading

I ordered this book for my granddaughter who had been struggling with reading comprehension. I found this book make learning fun, and for her to get the idea of how to read a book and remember what she had read was truly amazing. I would recommend this book. Our order was received when they said and it was like new. I am very pleased with my purchase.

All in all seems like a great workbook. However, there are several pages that the words are blurred and are ineligible. I believe this applies to all pages labeled as skimming. Pages 41, 42, 44, 46. If I weren’t desperate to teach my child, I’d likely ask for a refund.

My grandsons were struggling a bit with reading comprehension and writing summaries or book reports after reading assigned work. This workbook helped them learn how to pay attention to key points, to write a decent summary, and to be able to compose a short book report based on whatever works they read. Great book!!

Actually more work than taught at school, a good way to make sure your child is advancing ahead of the class or at least keeping pace with the curriculum. It is also a good method to encourage homework studies on a regular routine since most children seem not to have any homework and do not engage in any outside school activity other than video games or the occasional athletic sport.

8 pages were blurry, as if the font was on top of each other. Can’t read it.
