Belkin Slim Polyester Backpack for Laptops and Notebooks up to 15.4'' (Black / Light Gray)

I used the Belkin Energy Slim backpack for most of college. I bought the original Belkin Slim (this one) recently since my energy backpack has seen too much use. I figure I'll compare the two a bit.1. Appearance: this backpack looks a bit better than the energy counter part. The material feels sturdier and more sleek. The energy backpack claims to be waterproof, which isn't 100% true, and the "water proof" material doesn't look as good as this one. At the end of the day, if you like minimalistic design, either one is probably better than any other laptop backpack out there.2. Function: the only complaint that anyone can ever have about these little guys is that they are little. This is indeed the case. You will not be able to carry a laptop along with 2 large text books, for example. However, I've always carried a laptop, a notebook, and a folder with all my assignments just fine. On days where a laptop is not needed I can carry textbooks too. Either way, the space is limited and I would not recommend this for people who need to carry a lot of stuff.3. Comfort: both the original slim and the energy backpack have well padded straps that are very comfortable. The straps are straight and initially kind of tough, but that goes away real quick with a couple of uses.4. Material: both backpacks are very well padded on all sides and does a great job of protecting the laptop. I have a Macbook Pro and it fits perfectly in the compartment without moving around. The Energy backpack claims to be waterproof, as I've said before, but that's only somewhat true. In light rain, the inside usually stays completely dry. In a wetter situation, some water does get in. The original slim backpack, on the other hand, is made of a very absorbent looking material, so it probably won't offer any rain protection for your laptop.5. Value: I have no idea how the price managed to actually drop by so much from the original retail price. The closest to this in terms of design is the Incase backpack, which is larger and similar in build quality. That one costs close to $100 even on Amazon . . . At 20 bucks, this item is a legitimate steal. It's actually one of the cheapest laptops backpacks you can get, and easily one of the best.

I am a college student enrolled full time in at least 15 hours each semester. I needed a backpack that didn't weigh me down while walking across campus.Just for reference, here is what I typically carry.In this pack, I can fit: Main compartment: 14.1 inch widescreen toshiba with about 3 inches to spare height wise in the bag half size 3 subject notebook (I like to slip it into the half height pocket just outside the laptop compartment) Up to about 50 sheets of computer paper printouts/ looseleaf or another one subject notebook.Main compartment pockets: pens in the pen holders, my memory stick, sd micro sd adaptor, and four more pens and pencils in the zip pouch comfortably, ipod touch in the tall pocket near the pen sleeves. I don't use the card slots really. The bottom pocket is to tight for me to really put much in except maybe a comb or hair ties, I usually keep my cleaning cloth in that section.Long ways outer sleeve: I usually keep a small four function calculator and wither my wallet or my ipod classic (which is quite bulky in its case)and a smallish, hardcover, moleskin notebook. If my wallet is in the free space in the main compartment, I can also put an extra mouse in that spot (although that makes the pocket a little buldgy looking)Additionally, in the free space in the main compartment, I have my phone floating around.Also, I typically bring my lunch, so I have a sandwich in a plastic bag, and I can either fit a 16 oz bottle of drink in the bottom underneath the cord pack (which shifts things up a bit) or above my laptop, right underneath the zipper.Sometimes I also carry my WD portable hardrive. (the ipod touch gets kicked out of the sleeve and floats with the phone.)In the pouch included, which fits snugly at the bottom of the bag, out of the way: power cords for laptop two ipod cords (fulsize) and the shuffle adaptor two pairs of ear buds car universal usb adaptorThe whole point is, the belkin fits this obscene amount of junk, albeit snugly, without buldging or tearing, nothing rattles around. My laptop is protected on all sides of the case and is cushioned from impact damage. I am 5'11 and it fits my frame easily, although at first it was a little snug on the straps, it adjusts to your body within the first day.The only thing I'd worry about is that when you put it on, if you accidentally jar the adjustment thing on the strap, that strap will easily release, however that has only happened about four times in the months I've had the pack.The black doesn't pick up dirt. It seems to be pretty impermeable to rain. And the fit of it minimizes the perception of weight in the pack.All in all, it's a great bad and I would definitely recommend getting it if minimizing your travel bulk is what you desire.

Update: Within three weeks of use, the strap started to fray. In the past week, I've noticed that the fabric near the zipper is also fraying. I really like the design, but it just not hold up to normal wear and tear for daily use. I'm looking for an alternative, since I don't feel it looks professional when it's falling apart.Works well for me. It's slim and compact, but leaves plenty of room for me to stick my wristlet, a notebook and a couple of smaller books. I've had it for a few weeks and it's still seems quality. I understand what other reviewers are saying about the zippers. Mine have not broken, thankfully! The zippers do not slide easily, so I do take extra care with them given others' comments. The only thing missing is there is no place to clip my keys.

Bag is average space is very less u cant put anything else with laptop overall its a ok product , not worth for money .

Resumen rápido.Es una mochila de muy buena calidad y con protección para tu lap por todos lados, en verdad queda muy protegida, es compacta y de un diseño ligero, lo único malo es que le cabe lo justo.Reseña completa.Lo bueno.Primero que nada la relación precio calidad es excelente, cuando la compré estaba cerca de los 600 pesos.Sobre la calidad no hay mas que decir, es de buena calidad y buenos materiales, se nota resistente en cada ángulo.Tiene solo un espacio principal en donde puedes guardar la lap y un par de libros y cuadernos y en donde también puedes guardar tarjetas, plumas y otras cosas. En lo personal que todo venga en un solo espacio me parece perfecto, yo odio tener que abrir hasta tres cierres distintos, uno para lap, uno para libros y uno para útiles, así que esta me parece mucho mas funcional.Luego tiene otras dos bolsas frontales para cosas pequeñas, estas dos bolsas a pesar de ser profundas son realmente apretadas, puedes meter muchas cosas pequeñas pero no puedes meter nada de mucho volumen, un termo o una botella de agua simplemente no caben (o si lo hacen se notan muy apretadas).Uno de los tirantes tiene una pequeña bolsa elástica como para guardar billetes o algo pequeño y que esté a la mano, un celular no cabe a menos que sea uno muy pequeñoEn el interior la parte en donde se guarda la lap tiene una tela muy suave, mas que otras que he utilizado, es que en verdad se siente muy suave al tacto, por otro lado la lao estará protegida por todos lados.La parte trasera tiene un espesor muy grande, lo puedes tomar entre los dedos y notarás el grosor de la protección, también tiene partes rígidas a los lados e incluso por el frente tiene dos secciones a la derecha e izquierda que son rígidas, la parte de abajo también tiene una sección rígida que se puede remover, esta unida con velcro. Tu laptop o tablet estarán protegidas por todos lados.Viene con un estuche que puede ser para lo que sea pero en realidad es para cables, es mas grande que un estuche normal de tela y es del mismo material que la mochila, se nota resistenteLo malo.Las bolsas delanteras son muy estrechas, ambas están unidas a la misma sección, por lo que si una tiene cosas, la otra estará aun mas apretada, de hecho en ocaciones tengo cosas en la bolsa del cierre superior y ya no puedo meter la mano en la bolsa del cierre lateral, se aprietan mucho.La mochila en general es muy delgada, lo que a algunos les gustará (como a mi por que no me gustan las mochilas enormes y gordas) pero eso puede representar un problema si tienes muchos libros que llevar o si deseas meter otra cosa.Por lo mismo, no le cabe gran cosa mas que la lap y unos cuantos libros, sin una lap se pueden meter más aún pero no cabrá mas que libros y cuadernos, una chamarra o cosas por el estilo que a veces es útil meter en las mochilas simplemente no entran (o si lo hacen quedan muy apretadas).Es una buena mochila que no me arrepiento de comprar, me encanta el diseño simple y el color interior en blanco.Si quieres algún detalle en especifico puedes preguntar respondiendo este mensaje y con gusto de lo daré

Cabe perfectamente tu laptop, puedes guardar los cables en la bolsita incluida y te cabran una libreta, tus plumas y lápices, el celular, el cargador y tres cosas pequeñas mas.Verdaderamente es slim, por lo que no te cabrá mas de lo que menciono. Esto es especialmte bueno si andas viajas mucho y no quieres andar cargando cosas de mas. El estilo es elegante y sobrio, nada de excesos.
