Nikita: Season 2

+++Warning, this contains minor spoilers from season one, but no major season two giveaways.+++Season two picks up right after the events of season one, with Nikita and Alex's relationship effectively having ended and Nikita and Michael's relationship restored. Now, Nikita and Michael are on the run with a hard drive called "the black box" containing the Division's darkest secrets and they plan to right the wrongs that Division has committed over the years. This allows the show to keep the procedural case-of-the-week format and then tie in larger serial arcs throughout the season. This season sees Miranda in charge of Division and Percy locked up in a cell in the basement, with Miranda manipulating Alex to keep tracking Nikita down. The season does have some twists and turns, which are, like the case-of-the-week elements, sometimes work and are sometimes silly. It does not ever stray too far from the formulaic approach, which I think is partly good and partly bad.For those who get the Blu-Ray set, the show looks and sounds great in HD. The extras include a commentary track on the season finale, a documentary on the writers and the writing process, a feature on Maggie Q's health and nutrition regimen, just under half an hour's worth of deleted scenes, and a short gag reel. So, a decent amount of extras especially for a show that has more of a cult following than it does wide, mass appeal.Overall, the season is good. You definitely have to like action shows (or movies) whose plots can get a bit silly at times and be willing to just go with it. If you overanalyze things too much, you will definitely not enjoy it. The fight scenes are good and all of the actors do a great job with their characters. Melinda Clarke's role as Amanda is expanded a lot this season, and as she did on The OC, when she got more of a leading role, she crushes it. As in the first season, there is a lot of violence and some sexual content. Obviously, since it aired on regular broadcast TV they could not get too extreme with either, but they do take every opportunity to show off Maggie Q in skimpy outfits. Just, just be aware if that is an issue for you.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Nikita were some really awesome TV. I'd liked the old La Feme Nikita alright, only saw season 2 and 3 I bought on sale, but in my opinion the remake is a lot more plausible, even if it's still a thoroughly implausible show. What I mean is that so many people are double, super secret, triple agents with secret pasts, it really run similar to that old 90's Spider man cartoon where basically everybody he knows ends up as a super hero or villain by the end. Heck, they have to fill episodes and it's enjoyable if you don't question things too deeply so who cares?Anyway, season 2 has some really good arcs and I loved Percy's return from caged animal to something else by the end. He was my favorite character in the entire show because he was just so dedicated and not exactly evil, but ruthless in getting what he wanted. The bits where they made him physically impressive were a bit much for me, sort of like the old Stargate SG1 where Carter was not only a scientist, but a perfect shot, a decent cook, and always attractively made up. People tend to have a flaw or two, which is why the scientist guy from Stargate Atlantis was better IMHO, because he was brilliant, but a neurotic wreck who wasn't that great in combat. One of the signture bits of Percy's whole presence in the series is the last episode where he gets out of a situation and I don't want to give away any spoilers, so the part in that episode where he does something highly objectionable because he was in a rush. I won't give away whether he sneaks away, ends up dumped in a deep dank hole to rot, or meets an untimely end, but this was the last season he appeared in and so this was the season I feel the show peaked.In short, get the first season and get this one and you'll not be disappointed. The third and final season (a paltry 6 episode wrap up) change the dynamic of the series for better or worse, worse in my opinion but tastes vary, though still I'd consider them worth picking up to complete the set. Just be ready to binge watch because if you miss episodes you'll quickly become lost.

The heir apparent to Peta is fantastic. I first fell in love with Maggie Q in Live Free and Die Hard (the little Nija witch). So when I learned she had a Nikita show I tuned in and I was not disappointed. Spandex, short skirts and bikinis she is hot and lethal. She not only has lines but knows how to deliver them as well. They kept the character of Birkhoff (had to give Joel Surnow's family a WGAG character royalty), as well as a WGAW bump to Luc Besson who started that whole thing, as well as the people who did Point of No Return (Amanda is their character, aptly played in this show by one of my other favorites, Melinda Clarke who was Grissom's gal pal in CSI and Mal's love interest in a Firefly episode). Xander Berkeley is just as dandy as the evil head of the place as was Eugene Robert Glazer in La Femme. Shane West was given another La Femme first name of Michael (I remember him from Ocean's Eleven the remake, I think he was the guys who put down mixed hearts and diamonds and thought he won the pot in the game with the other actors!). Craig Silverstein (late of his one season entry Standoff, as well as Bones and Terra Nova) updated this show brilliantly (Percy and Lyndsy Fonseca's Alex are his character creations as well as the format). As I said, You can't go wrong with a Nikita, be it French, Canadian or a Point of No Return they're all great and Maggie Q is carrying on the tradition in such a viciously sexy manner! If you like shows like Covert Affairs or Alias this is your cup of tea!

映画”ニキータ”にヒントを得て作られたアメリカのTVシリーズです。これ以前にも”La femme Nikita"と言うTVシリーズもあり、設定としてはそちらを参考にしています。テンポ、アクション、成り行きもすべて良い感じで３日でシーズン２を見終わりました。自分の買った版は、音声；英語、日本語、字幕；英語、日本語、他。でした。個人的なことですが、マイケルは”La femme Nikita"の俳優さんが印象深かったので、ちょっと違和感があります。アクション、スパイものがお好きな方にはお勧めです。

All episodes are really well written - I appreciate the complex nature of the show - product shipped great - arrived great & barring a 15 mile ride to pick them up at the nearest Post Office (Instead of delivered to my address - starting to pee my off) - the purchase was well worth the money.

Bien que cette série soit peu connue, elle est absolument magnifique. Tout y est : bien sûr de l'action et quelles actions, mais aussi un peu de psychologie et de romantisme. Les acteurs, actrices surtout sont au meilleur de leur art. Voilà une série en deux saisons qui devrait ravir les hommes mais aussi beaucoup les femmes puisqu'elles sont à l'honneur, ce qui dans ce genre de scénario est assez rare.

Staffel 2 der zur Zeit heißesten Actionserie (persönliche Meinung !!) geht genau dort weiter, wo sie im spannenden Finale der ersten Staffel endete. Nikita und Michael führen den Kampf gegen OVERSIGHT und die DIVISION allein weiter und das mit allen ihnen zur Verfügung stehenden Mitteln. Alex ist nur noch damit beschäftigt den Mörder ihrer Familie zu töten und benutzt dafür die Mittel des ehemaligen Feindes, der DIVISION. Doch es soll nicht lange dauern und es ergeben sich neue Bündnisse und Partnerschaften. Die ersten Folgen behandeln die Jagd nach Percys Black Boxen, welche ja bekanntlich alle illegalen Aktionen der DIVISION und OVERSIGHT enthalten und sollten diese an die Öffentlichkeit kommen, für reichlich Sprengstoff auf der ganzen Welt sorgen würden.Mehr zu verraten wäre unangebracht, gerade bei einer Serie wie "Nikita", wo es andauernd irgendwelche Twists und Überraschungen in der Story gibt. Die ersten Folgen sind aus meiner Sicht leider etwas langatmig und nicht sehr aufregend geworden, doch spätestens mit Folge 9 (Fair Trade) nimmt die Serie wieder Fahrt auf und man kann es kaum erwarten die nächste Folge zu sehen.Es gibt wieder reichlich Shoot-Outs (teils recht blutig), Verfolgungsjagden, Explosionen und Martial-Art-Fights. Hier und da wird auch wieder heftig gefoltert. Ein wenig Humor kommt durch den Charakter von Birkhoff (Aaron Stanford "X-Men 2" und "X-Men 3") in die Serie...er hat auf jeden Fall mehr Bildschirmzeit als noch in Staffel 1. Die Stammbesetzung hat sich nicht geändert. Highlight ist wie schon in den frühen Folgen Xander Berkley als gerissener, hinterhältiger, bösartiger Strippenzieher Percy. Devon Sawa ("Die Killerhand", "Final Destination") ist wieder als Owen in einigen Folgen dabei. Ebenso wie Rob Stewart ("Tropical Heat", "Painkiller Jane") als eiskalter Roan. Auch Peter Outerbridge ("ReGenesis", "SAW 6") ist als Ari Tasarov wieder mit von der Partie. Weitere wiederkehrende Gastauftritte absolvieren Sarah Clarke ("24"), Alberta Watson ("La Femme Nikita", "24") und auch William DeVry ("Mission Erde", "Reich und schön").In "Nikita" ist nicht immer alles logisch oder kommt hier und da nicht unbedingt sinnig rüber. Meist sind es die Handlungen der bestens ausgebildeten Killer (somit der Hauptpersonen), welche ab und zu für Stirnrunzeln sorgen. Zwei kleine Beispiele: Nikita nähert sich immer wieder offensichtlich gefährlichen Gegnern mit der Pistole in der Hand...jedoch meist so nah, dass diese kein Problem damit haben sie zu überwältigen und zum Kampf zu zwingen. Oder wenn sich wie gesagt bestens ausgebildete Agenten und Killer mitten auf offenem Gelände eine Schießerei liefern, anstatt sich hinter irgendetwas zu verstecken und in Deckung zu gehen...besonders auffällig in einer Parkgarage mit reichlich Säulen und Betonpfeilern zum Verstecken...doch nein...man steht halt neben den Pfeilern.Auch gibt es ab und zu ein paar witzige Goofs "zu bestaunen": Nikita springt auf ein Motorrad, verliert ihre Waffe, welche hinten in der Hose steckte...doch eine rasante Verfolgungsjagd später ist die Pistole wieder an Ort und Stelle im Hosenbund. Und ich war selbst noch nicht in Eskisehir (Türkei), aber dass dort die Berliner S-Bahn durch die Gegend fährt, wäre mir neu.Jedoch kann ich bei einer ansonsten wirklich rasanten und gut gemachten Actionserie auch mal über diese oder andere Kleinigkeiten hinwegsehen und das Geschehen auf dem Bildschirm ohne viel darüber nachzugrübeln genießen.Die 23 Folgen der zweiten Staffel kommen auf 5 DVDs in einem Klarsicht-Amaray im Pappschuber (zumindest bei der Erstauflage). Wie schon bei der ersten Staffelveröffentlichung ist das Bild top...für eine DVD keinerlei Beanstandungen und auch der englische Originalton in DD 5.1 ist sehr gut...perfekter Raumklang und ordentlich Bass während der reichlich vorhandenen Action. Es sind englische Untertitel vorhanden (allerdings für Hörgeschädigte, d.h. es werden auch Geräusche ect. beschrieben). Des Weiteren gibt es noch dänische, finnische, norwegische und schwedische Untertitel. Die Folgeninhalte sind im Innencover beschrieben.Als Bonus gibt es:- Deleted Scenes zu 14 Episoden (ca. 24 Minuten)- "What If?" ... die Autoren über die Serie (ca. 25 min)- "Living The Life" ... Behind the scenes mit Maggie Q (ca. 8 min)- Gag Reel (ca. 6 min)- Audiokommentar zum StaffelfinaleFazit: Auch die 2te Staffel strotzt nur so vor Action und Twists in der Story. Maggie Q ist die Actiongranate herself und auch die anderen Schauspieler, allen voran Berkley, leisten tolle Arbeit. Wie gesagt braucht diese 2te Staffel ein wenig bis sie in Gänge kommt, doch dann gibt es kein Halten mehr. Die Einschaltquoten sind in den Staaten wohl nicht mehr so gut wie bei Staffel 1...dieses Problem haben Serien, welche einen fortschreitenden Handlungsablauf haben, aber meist immer (siehe "Lost", "Fringe", "24" ect.). Staffel 3 läuft zur Zeit noch in US (Stand Mai 2013) und Staffel 4 wurde bestätigt, diese soll dann allerdings die letzte sein und einen ordentlichen Abschluss bilden.
