Four years old and still runs
I got this to help with quickly shaping my first guitar build. I’ve since used it for other woodworking projects and a second guitar. I don’t think this model is meant for heavy duty work, but I don’t think the Ridgid version is either. So do use all your might to push your material into it. Let the machine do the work. So for hobby work, even occasional luthiery, it’s amazing. If it failed today I could safely say I got my money’s worth from it.

Works great
Love this win oscillating sander, it works great and from what I’m told most of these sanders are made by the same manufacture, but just have different names put on them. I’ve been using it now for a couple of weeks and it seems to have plenty of power and functions really well. I would recommend this to other woodworkers.

Good as other name brand units
This is easy to put together, the same quality as other name brand budget sanders for less money. It works well in my small shop. Good value for what it allows you to do.

Fantastic investment.
The media could not be loaded. Oh, this is a great value for the price. I recommend buying some extra sanding, drums, and various grit just around it out, but for the money this thing is amazing.Good quality parts with a pretty solid construction at this price point. Naturally, I’m sure there is better out there at higher price points, but for an entry-level machine, this thing is a beastWith the belt sander and the drum sander together in one machine it’s a real space saver, which is nice for my little workshop as every bit of space is important.Pros:*Compact design safe space.*Dust removal port works brilliantly*After many hours of use it has performed reliably, and appears to be pretty rugged.*Great value and better than expected quality for this price point*Built-in storage for accessories is extremely helpful.Cons:*Sometimes difficult to get the correct angle (I carve guitar necks and sometimes I need to get extreme angles to sand, and while the table tilts down it still gets in the way. I’m not sure if this is unique to my needs, but I thought it was worth mentioning)* Easy to lose the little washers that secure the sanding drums.*The unit will sometimes slide when I am applying pressure to the word piece against the sanding belt (the feet could be stickier, but I will probably put a rubber mat underneath it, and that should fix the problem). The pros far outweigh the cons and I realize I’m being pretty nitpicky with those cons but I felt like I had to put something in there to balance it out, I have a fairly well stocked home shop and have been building guitars for several years, semi professionally out of all my tools, there are a handful of machines that are instrumental to building everything from Guitars to furniture to whatever assorted projects I come up with and this is definitely one of them.10/10 would recommend! If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them and I have an unboxing in video on Rumble. I tried to post it here, but it appears it was too large.I hope this was helpful and leave a thumbs up if you found this review useful! Cheers and best of luck to you and your future projects!

Very poorly built.
This is a piece of garbage. The one, not very well made, spindle can not sufficiently handle the weight of the full belt assembly for very long. After about 10 hours of use the oscillating belt broke and the end of the spindle came loose. Wen sent me a replacement spindle and belt under warranty, I replaced them, and in less than 10 more hours of use it failed again. This was not under heavy use. I was not putting heavy pressure on the belt during use. I was merely sanding off the tabs left behind by my CNC router on 1 inch square pieces of oak. I am extremely disappointed and will not be buying another Wen product.
