Stylish, easy to use - great for the bottom of the stairs
We are very happy with this gate. I spent way too much time researching different baby gates for the bottom of our stairs. Our stairs open into our main living area, so I wanted something that could retract when it isn’t needed. I also didn’t want an ugly baby gate in the middle of our living room. This does what we need it to do: keep our almost-toddler off the stairs while looking stylish and going out of the way when it isn’t needed. We usually don’t lock the clips on the right unless our baby gets too curious. Without the clips locked, you’re able to use it one handed. I really like this gate and have recommended it to friends!PS: while I love this for the bottom of the stairs, I wouldn’t recommend it for the top of stairs for fear that somehow a kid could slip underneath it. We are using a more traditional gate up there. But for the bottom of the stairs, this is perfect!

Hey now, hey now, this is what dreams are made of
Got this to use as a gate for our dog. He’s about 8 lbs and I was worried he would be able to squeeze under. After setting it up I put our dog on one side then placed a very tempting variety of treats about a foot away on the other side. No matter how hard he tried squeezing his lil treat muncher under the gate, he couldn’t get under. Success!Only downside is the quality of the screws. DRILL A DECENTLY SIZED PILOT HOLE IF YOU ARE INSTALLING IN A WOOD FRAME! These screws will very easily strip with a power drill even on a low setting, and that’s no fun at all. They’ll have you plier-grabbing and face-sweating up a storm if you don’t have a proper removal kit.Even after making a pilot hole I got one stuck half way in the frame because it stripped. Thankfully my particular package had an extra set of mounting equipment so once the dud was out we had replacements.I will say, other than the screw snaffoo this was a super easy gate to mount. They include two paper mounting templates so you don’t need to go into a spiraling fit of compulsion taking a ruler to the wall.

Gate might be okay, will never know... included hardware was awful
You'd think that if you pay $85+ for a gate you'd get decent hardware to install it with. Nope, three of the included screws stripped just installing the plastic mounting plates into the wall. Not only that, but one of the plastic mounts broke in the process. Unperturbed, I used my own screws instead and despite using the included template to mark off the correct spacing for the screws, found that the distance between the top and bottom mounts was STILL off by between 1/8 and 1/4 inch! Pathetic instructions, miserable hardware and this gate ended up in the return bin to Amazon. It's a shame as the actual gate piece seems quite good but with no way to mount this properly, I'll never get to use it.

Excellent Customer Service
We recently purchased this safety gate to install on the steps for our deck. The installation was quite easy and the material looks very sturdy and weather proof. The only problem we had was with the lock/unlock knob. It was difficult to push to lock or release. I contacted Probebi’s Customer Service via email and Hannah responded to my email within hours! She apologized for our problem with their gate and promised to send a replacement right out to us. We received the new gate in three days and it is operating fine. Probebi definitely stands behind their product and their Customer Service is always there to help with any problem.

Not for high traffic areas
I purchased this retractable gate for my front door because we often leave our apartment door open for the breeze, but my 11mo old twins were escaping. We have the pressure mounted gates at the top/bottom of our stairs, but i wanted something a little less visable when not in use. While it serves this purpose, a few cons to note:- does not pull across smoothly/very easily - requires a little force- difficult to close/latch/lock with 1 hand- after 1 day, its sagging a little at the bottom and my son has already tried to crawl underneath it (unsuccessfully but will see if it gets worse with wear)- i question the durability, especially since we have it installed outside our front door. The latch and locking mechanisms are flimsy plastic (tbd)In short, I think it will work for our purposes (if it holds up), but I would never put this in a high traffic area that you’re going in/out of often bc its not easy to open/close while carrying a baby (or anything for that matter).

Not worth the savings. I liked the other one that’s twice the cost WAY more.
I needed something to put at the top of my stairs to keep the dogs from going up there and to keep my toddler from accidentally falling down them while playing in her playroom.First of all, there is only ONE way to install it. I didn’t realize this as I had purchased one similar to this that I was able to install which ever way I wanted. I hoped I could have the gate on the other side. Even after accepting this was not an option, I realized the gate would not come out smoothly because of the angle it’s installed. (I don’t have it installed in a weird place, there’s even a picture in the description that shows exactly the way I have it.)Also, you have to be super precise when installing the brackets. Even using the box cut out (which I thought was cool originally) I had to do it a couple times to get the right fit and then fill the other holes in my wall with putty and paint! Ugh.It produces a burning smell each time it’s opened and closed. That’s unsettling.Unless you want to put holes in your baseboards, there is a good 3 inch gap from the floor. And bc the gate is flexible, my 65 lb dog squeezed through (and tore out the screws from the wall) THE VERY FIRST NIGHT.I know you have to accept some cons to using a flexible retractable gate but i have used one for 2 years that was much better. I thought this one looked fine and was half the price. Not worth the savings.

Great dog gate
We bought this to use as a gate between our kitchen and living room to keep the dog out the kitchen. It was easy to install. It’s super easy to use. Just be ware, our dog does not “test limits” on gates. This is a fabric type gate and she could very easily scoot under it (we have it installed above the base board). The cat can fit easy under the gate. Love it!
