Be careful of your buyer, they may have a fake
This game is really fun and should not be missed. But some people that sell the game (most all of them) have a fake copy or are trying to sell you a fake copy. These fakes work fine but they will randomly delete all your save data and most of the time not let you transfer your pokemon. These fakes can be spotted by just looking at the game card. If it has a label that's put on poorly (aka by hand) its most likely a fake. One sure way to tell is to look at the inside of the game. If you can see a yellow circle hidden slightly by the sticker on the front, ITS A FAKE. The yellow thing is a battery that's cheaper and wont last as long. But the most sure way to tell if the game is fake is by turning it on. If it goes the the title fine it may still be fake. Pressing start should bring up the the save file. If its say's something like "The game data can be loaded" then "The game can be played" THIS IS 100% SURE A FAKE. I hope this helps any one trying to get a good real copy of this game. The best way to not end up with a fake is saddly just to buy a new one, even though its gonna cost a lot.

Watch out for bootlegs!
The game itself is great, almost no complaints other than the fact its probably one of the hardest in the series as the Elite Four and Gym Leaders are rather over-leveled and know really good moves. However, when you're BUYING this game off Amazon, CONTACT THE SELLER AND ASK FOR A PICTURE OF THE LABEL IF POSSIBLE. Check that you don't buy a bootleg version by mistake. There are videos on YouTube that show you how to tell whether if your cartridge is a bootleg or the real deal just by looking at the label. Bootleg versions have faulty save functions no matter how long the cartridge has been used. They will save but your save file is always at a high risk of deleting itself, especially if you're playing it on a DS (in other words, a seller telling you that the game saves properly won't be enough). One sure fire way to tell if you have a bootleg version is if whether there is a message about your save file every time you start up the game. If the game ever says "The save file will be loaded..." or "The save file has been deleted..." when you get to the main menu, then you have a bootleg copy.

Cannot play the game and the manufacturer lied.
It says internal battery is damaged as soon as you turn the game on so the owner knew this and still put it as good condition. I expect a full refund for a game that doesn’t work.

Authentic cartridge
It is a legitimate copy of sapphire and has a new battery, but works just fine. One way to identify a real copy is to see if the the back of the motherboard has the 4 small rectangles on the top left and three circles going down on the right. On the outside of the cartridge there is usually more often than not a number stamped into the sticker.

Dry battery
The game itself was authentic unfortunately the battery on it was dry and now i will have to spend more money to get a new replacement battery for the price one would figure that they would atleast make sure the battery on it worked

Previous owner was a weeb. Hilarity ensued.
Previous save file belonged to a weaboo. All his Pokemon had names I recognized from Naruto. Some made sense, like Magikarp being Konohamaru and Beautifly being Sakura, but then there were nonsense ones like Gulpin as Rock Lee and Taillow as Shikamaru. I felt bad deleting that save so I decided to continue it. I bought this to transfer some Pokemon from XD to Platinum, then from there to White, then Pokebank them all the way up to US so the 4 badge head start was a nice bonus.Anyway I give this 5 stars because not only is the one I got a legitimate cartridge (I went to reddit for some guides on how to tell a real from a highly convincing fake), but also the Naruto names made me laugh.

Got Bored
I have played Pokemon Red, Yellow, and Gold (along with all of the side-game like Stadium, Dash, etc). Compared to R, Y, and G, this one (though graphically advanced) falls short for me. The added graphics are great and the colors are vibrant, so are the side-quests, but eventually it all comes down to a Pokemon game is a Pokemon game is a Pokemon formatted game. Unfortunately, this time, there are so many things to do that pokemon suddenly "biting" you in the grass or water is a quick annoyance. Unfortunately again, it becomes a choice between training your pokemon and doing the quests you're so eager to do. Maybe I'm just impatient? There are a lot of new things to do, like Pokemon contests (you may have seen these on D&P in season 11), and Poke blocks. The Poke block mini game is quite fun, but repetitive after a time. You start to get annoyed that the old man playing with you keeps missing so much even though you're perfect and therefore makes the quality of your blocks sub-par. You also never really know where to go in the game. I spent who knows how long wandering around before I happened to chance upon that I had to go back to Lavaridge to complete a quest before I could continue. Mind, I was halfway across the "world" from Lavaridge at that point, having just naturally defeated the gym leader that the game had led me to. That's just one of the places I got stuck in. I got stuck about 8 times a day (playing about 6 hours a day on and off), not exaggerating. The game gives you no hints in this regard. I played up until Shoal cave (after Mossdeep city) and put the game down. I may pick it up later, but right now, I've had enough. I wouldn't suggest this for someone playing Pokemon for the first time. This is more for someone who wants to play Pokemon because they like the genre and want to play another Pokemon game after having several under their belt. Some people say that this is their favorite Pokemon game of all, so everyone's experience is different. Don't let my review keep you from playing this game. You may find you like it and go, "hey...that reviewer is an idiot XD"
