Edelbrock1487 Performer Series Carburetor Calibration Kit

I ordered this kit in order to bring the 1406 up to a 1405 spec carb and then some. Which it will do, but that is the limit. Need another kit to actually take the 1405 base curve to higher performance. Very pleasee with my 1406 which is now a 1405. Really made the engine come alive, no stumble on hard accelerations. Update: FYI: I went to the larger jet, smaller rod, appeared to pick up some performance in HP, but, while doing many miles on the Hot Rod Power Tour my milage went from 23 MPG to 15 MPG. (Very rich just cruising) First chance I changed back to the original jets and rods. I did, against instructions, open the idle screws 1/4 turn beyond optimum set point and this almost completely reduced the stumble upon acceleration. Sticking where I am as long as fuel is at $3.54 a gallon.

The idea of packaging a range of jets and metering rods to enable fine tuning is a great idea. The one gripe I have is why do I have to pay for another set of .098 jets when the stock 1406 carb comes with .098s as stock? makes no sense to have two sets of .098s when another leaner # jet would be of more help and give me more flexibility. I may end up returning this before I open it if I can't say for certain the one set of leaner jets will give ne what I need.

I used the springs and one size smaller rods to make my engine pull a little better. This calibration kit is what makes these carbs work like they are supposed to. I've heard a lot of people talking bad about the Edelbrock carbs. I've used the carbs on at least 20 engines in different configurations and don't see what the problem is. I think that the "haters" just aren't smart enought to figure out how to tune the Edelbrock carbs.

I dont know if its because its edlebrock but the price is very high to me. It's just springs jets and metering rods.

This kit has the parts I expected to tune my 1406 carb. I wish Edelbrock made one with more rods and jets, but this one works fine. Has all springs, a few sets of rods and jets.

It did what it said it would but was very well labeled making everything easy to get results.

Just now needed this, opened box. Missing hair pin clips, metering rod retaining springs, and some jets. Literally unopened box too. Shame

Si tienes un Edelbrock 1406 al que quieras modifcar, este kit es indispensable. Trae todo lo necesario para reducir/incrementar la inyección de combustible (espreas, rods, resortes), por lo que no necesitarás nada más.Personamente, recomiendo que este kit sea comprado en conjunto con el kit 1477 (rebuild kit) y el kit 1479 (1405 tunning kit), para poder disponer de un mayor rango de modificaciones en tu carburador, y al mismo tiempo, hacer un refresh de juntas y piezas necesarias para un excelente desempeño.

Great kit. Way cheaper than buy each piece individually.
