Come on a voyage to the stars with this intricate 4.5" TITAN vinyl reconstruction of Captain Gabriel Lorca's ship, the USS Discovery - the eponymous lead starship from Star Trek: Discovery!

Great toy! (But not totally accurate.)
My son really likes this USS Discovery toy!!! It is definitely a toy though, and not a model or a collectors item as the dimensions of the spaceship are not really show-accurate. I have included a picture of the actual ship dimensions for comparison. On the toy, the dish is too thick (and uses black paint to represent the open spaces), the neck is too tall, the triangle section is too small, and the warp nacelles are not long enough. The paint job overall looks great but unfortunately, on the one we received, the light blue line painted around the sides of the warp nacelles are only painted on one of the nacelles, and missing on the other. To be fair, however, the toy looks good and looks kind of like what you expect it to look like in your head. The real dimensions of the ship on the TV show are really extremely stretched out and look rather exaggerated and delicate. The toy seems quite sturdy and my son is enjoying swooshing it around without fear of breaking it. We feel like it was a fair value at the discounted price it was listed at when we bought it. (Something like 74% off the outrageously high list price.) Overall we are pretty happy with it!

The Short/Squat Aesthetic is deliberate.
Many reviews are complaining about the proportions of this toy being off. They are meant to be. The toy is done in the "Super Deformed" or "Chibi" style that originated in Japan in the 70s and is still popular today. The reason it doesn't look Short and Stubby in the box is because the original model is so stretched and spindly, that a stubby version of it looks more "right" at first glance. It is a stylized toy, cheap collectable. Not a more high end collectable. It's made out of foam with paint all over it, so not for pets or children who like to chew on things.

Look at the Picture
This is a toy and not a collectable. There is no stand so you have to display it in it's box (which does have a relatively large window.) Of course, this is fine for those who like to keep things in the box. It is made of thick rubber so it is not breakable but it will melt so don't keep it near a heat source.

One of the sturdiest Star Trek toys I have found.
After about a month of rough play by a toddler, one of the nacelles broke but was easily glued. Star Trek toys for little ones are hard to find, and I would still recommend this despite it having broken.

Like the design...
I honestly like the shorter, stubbier design of this version of Discovery over the actual "too long" real version! I just wish it came with a stand of some kind!

Note that it is made of vinyl so it is a little flexible.
Nice. Wish it came with a stand.
