Feeling the cover is the best part. Sensory delight.
You know, I feel like this big, luxurious, dotted notebook was worth it. Everyone deserves the feeling of using a Moleskine at least once.

My favorite notebook. Need more cover color options.
I pretty much always use these Moleskine soft cover notebooks for journals and commonplace books. I prefer their size and proportion over other popular brands. They open flat. The paper is thinner than some but they are almost double the sheet count. I use pencil, gel pens, highlighters and Microns. Some pens bleed through but I'm not much concerned about that. My only disappointment is that they no longer offer the range of cover colors for the dotted and squared versions. They are now only available in green and black covers.

Paper not thick enough for fountain pen
I purchased this along with a few other similar-sized Moleskin notebooks, but the others I now notice are specifically described as using "thick paper" where this one has that feature in the detailed description ("good for fountain pens") as a general feature when that's not true. Bleeds through on this one. The image shows bleeding, after I switched to a fine nibbed fountain pen, I was using a medium and it was nearly completely through. It just means I can only write on one side, so it is not a tragedy as it doesn't bleed through to the next page... but it is disappointing.

I absolutely LOVE these Moleskine dot journals. They have been my go-to for running my calendar and my life for the past few years. The XL size, durable soft cover and reliable elastic band as well as the quality of the paper are all features that make these note books superb. I especially love the colour of this green one and have also previously loved the red cover. I hope Moleskine continues to produce these for many years to come.
