Over in the Meadow Paperback – August 1, 2003

A beautiful classic I read to my children and I now have purchased for them to read to their children. The illustrations are bewitching, the rhymes mesmorizing. You can't go wrong with this one. It's a must-have.

I had this book along with the cassete tapes with the song, as a child. I sang & read the story to my own children and now I am sharing with my grandchildren!

I was read this poem as a child almost seventy years ago and still love it! I bought it to read to my grandchildren. I had to choose an age to submit this - but honestly, I think anyone from 1-10 could enjoy it, as well as the adults reading it.

This is a fantastic book for very young elementary students, particularly for singing the poem to them. They pick up on the counting patterns quickly, and enjoy the pictures a lot.I do wish it was a bit bigger, however the item is exactly as described so I cannot fault them for that.

Very fun book for my 16 month old grandson. It will grow in meaning for him as he learns more and wants to learn more about his world.

This is a cute book which was recommended to me by a speech therapist. At the time, I bought this for an 18 month toddler. Not only does the author use rhymes in his storytelling but the author uses numbers to depict the animals in the meadow. Your toddler will be able to count the different animals in the meadow. This is a good book that you and your toddler will enjoy.

I grew up with the Golden Books version of this book. I wish it had been available on amazon, but this one is ok. I like the pictures in the Golden Book better, but these ones are nice and are done in an interesting style. Some of the verses are a different from what I remember (the seventh one doesn't rhyme?) but overall it is a good book.

Everything Ezra Keats does is wonderful and this is my favourite of all of his. Over in the Meadow's gentle and reassuring text is matched by it's sumptuous, rich paintings of animals and nature in the meadow. Our girls really love the call and response element to the parent animals and the baby animals on each page.

Lovely artwork, and the words are very similar to the original song. I sing it to my class and they love it!

The story and pictures are wonderful.
