Can you download apps off google like mobdro

You can't download all apps from playstore, you can however install third party apps using USB, or via Web browser such as penguin browser. I've downloaded movie HD which is similar.

Is it normal the remote keeps setting off? Like its get unlinked with the box and i need to take the batteries out and in again to make it work.

I had this issue too and it appears to be a common problem with the box.

I have a yamaha soundbar dts with one s/pdif port. will i get dts audio if i plug the s/pdif to the tv and connect the tv to the media player?

As I Recall, if your TV SPDif Output setting is set to Digital (not PCM) you should get basic surround DTX (or Prologic) pass through, So in theory HDMI out of MiBox to TV and SPDIF out of TV to Soundbar should Decode so as long as the bar can understand what format is being sent - but in my opinion unless you have dedicated surround satellite speakers running from the Bar for the Rear channels you'd be better off down sampling to 3 channel, (Pure Left, Centre and Right) and forego trying to virtualise rear channels. But that's just me.
