We looked at many containers to collect kitchen scraps for our composter. This was the winner hands down— simple, clean style for placing next to sink and keeping on counter. Easy to use, And just the right size for our family of two. Nice handle for carrying outside to composted, easy rinse out and we’re done. It has a built in basket If you want to use a filter, but we don’t use it. Seems we can go 3 days or so till it’s full. We’re cooking home more with Covid virus At peak.

Small kitchen needed the space for trash can so I found this one. I ordered and next day it delivered. So nice~It looks great on the countertop and easy to clean, easy to carry and no smell. It is amazing!!!!

This is perfect for my counter-top. It's cute, it's small, it's convenient, and it doesn't smell. It allows me leave the large bulky compost bin provided by my compost service in the cupboard under the sink. My only complaint is that it seems prone to growing mold. Every time I empty this little container into my larger container, I notice some mold growing on the bottom and have to clean it off. This is my first compost container that doesn't use a liner (which I LOVE since it saves me money and feels more eco-friendly), so it's possible this is normal, but it's a little gross.

This is exactly what I wanted. It is the perfect size to sit on my counter, behind my sink. I put scraps in it during the day and transfer to my locked compost box at night. I love the drain inside it, since the city requires no liquids included. It's great looking too!

Too small and messy to dump so frequently into compost

I keep this compost container on my counter, near at hand. The white is unobtrusive, although I'd consider a pleasing color design a plus if one ever becomes available. It is not difficult to clean and can be cleaned in the dishwasher, although I clean it by hand. I use a kitchen scrub brush for the inner basket (this brush is used for cleaning icky things, never my dishes). Contains odors! No fruit flies in the kitchen! A family of four, frequently preparing fruit & veggies, would need to empty the container daily. As a single, I empty it a couple of times a week. Can't figure out why I used a small lidded trash can under my sink for so many years.....

I love the smaller size of this container, and the lid fits on tightly so critters (those pesky fruit flies) can’t get in or out, and there’s no filter to mess with. The draining bottom works great to separate out the liquids. Lid does not fit without the draining part. The key is to use it to collect your bits and dump it into a real composter the same day. This is not for composting, it for collecting. If you keep that in mind then you’ll love it.

I am docking one star from this item because it is too small. One grapefruit rind and a few egg shells and it is full. The quality is very good and durable. I love the look of it - a Scandinavian look. The handle is great for carrying it or dumping it into a larger container. The inside basket is easy to remove and clean. But, unfortunately it is just too small.
