Holly amazeballs, this was superfantastic!
I don't think it's possible for me to love this book more! I loved loved loved it so hard. As usual, I am leaving the cliffhanger warning here, and there are some exceptionally violent scenes with triggers. This is in no way a criticism, as it would be impossible to portray the atmosphere of the author's world without violence. Now, that's out of the way, let me tell you how amazing Piper is! Piper is seriously the most serious competition for Taz, as she is equally amazing, strong, warrior, progressive, independent, determined, and nothing keeps her down. Obviously, no one has lived and survived through the hell Taz has been through, but Piper has the same strong spirit, and has survived her own share of horrors. She comes from the isolated place of Paradise that we had a pleasure, or lack there of, to be introduced in the previous book. As the timeline goes, this story occurs sometime during the end of the first book (The Wasteland) and throughout the second book (The Summit). So back to Paradise, which is a disgusting cradle of misogyny and not in the cave man way of Wastes, where brawl conquers all, but in the old man rule way, where women have no rights whatsoever. I will not say any more on this topic and let the readers figure out the beauties of antiquated oppressive society.Did I already mention how amazing Piper is? Well she decided to go break some glass ceilings and apply for a "man's" job. Let's just say that her best friend is indoctrinated enough to not give her any support whatsoever. And guess what, he is the sleazebag doctor from the previous book. He never grew on me. Fortunately, there are a couple of people outside of this horrible place who give Piper all the support and love that she needs. And she thrives and grows and evolves into a warrior that can rival Taz. And those two people, who I shall not name and let the readers discover them slowly, are equally fabulous as Dray. Dray rocks. I am so loving this book, this series, and all of the characters, even the bad ones, because the author is a master of making realistic, well-rounded characters any reader can love or hate or adore or whatever, but they are so alive and present and evolving and amazing, they make the reader feel. A lot. The author is also a master of building and expanding her world, as well as creating the atmosphere of dread, horror, and violence. Fortunately, the author is a master of conveying all kinds of hot and steamy stuff, to make your heart stop. So overall, this is one of the best series out there and this book is a fantastic addition to it.

The Forgotten
I've made it no secrect that I love the Their Champion series and Worth. When I saw that there was another book coming, I preordered. Honestly I was a bit worried about it though because this book follows Piper, not Worth. I shouldn't have though. Piper's story is excellent and heartbreaking and fun and everything in between. So as I said above this book follows Piper, a young woman from Paradise. If you've read the previous books in this series, you'll know exactly what Paradise is. When we start the book, Piper is fun and determined to see more than just the walls of an underground bunker. She is really determined, so much so that she is persistent in getting one man to train her. She's funny, quirky and also dealing with affairs of the heart and all of the messiness that can bring.Along the way, something terrible happens, things change. She changes and she must leave behind the only world she has ever known and everyone she has ever loved. The characters were fantastic, once again. Piper has a dogged determination throughout the book, even if the reasons change. Her inner strength becomes evident and you can't help but to root for her. The guys are all different but each brings their own thing to the story. Some of them we've meet before while others are new.The plot line is clear and makes sense. The world events in the book are consistent with Worth's story, even though we never see her. We do get to see how the outside world reacts to the events, such as the Summit, in general. Piper's storyline is separate, but certainly makes sense in that world. The book plot is wrapped up, and it remains open for Piper and others to appear in the next Worth led story. The world building is excellent, though not as wide ranging as the previous novels. That's ok though because the areas we visit in this story aren't mentioned in the other books. We get a wider view of the world, it's people and their response to the end of the world. We also learn more about a place we've seen before and the people inside. There is a trigger warning for this story. Make sure you read the full blurb. While it does "fade to black" there are some paragraphs with violence and the aftermath.Overall, I would recommend this book. While you don't have to read Worth's story to follow along with Piper's, it does enhance the backstory here and the significance of some of the characters.

Brilliant read !
I enjoyed reading this book, though be warned it does contain scenes of graphic nature, violent and/or sexual.I have read a lot of our author's books now and this is such a good series, silly me didn't even realise it was a spin off series from the wastelands 😂I did struggle with some parts of this book near the middle just because I thought it was lagging in some parts of the story (just my fussy self being critical, hence the 4 stars) but other than that I would recommend reading this book, you can read it if you haven't read the other wasteland series (as I did though I have read the first book, so there were mentions of some people)I would deffo once the second book is released, buy it, it left me on a good cliffhanger and I feel all the action coming up 😁

You will cry
Wow what can I say the mc Piper has been through the ringer in this story but it has made her a stronger person for it. Katie has written this novella beautifully her characters are amazing and so relatable and easy to fall in love with.Jago is strong determined and definitely an alpha male, while archel is sweet and silent but deadly but only shows the sweet side when he's alone with piper. I can't wait to read katies next story.

So freaking good!
I am absolutely in love with this series and so when The Forgotten was released I freaked because I always wanted to know what happen to Evan's girl but this, this I did not expect. It was waaayyy better than anything I could have imagined. I am really hoping that Katie decides to continue with Piper's story as I feel it is definitely not finished and I could read so much more!Piper is this sassy, fiery mouthed badass who has the greatest taste in men (Beast and Shadow!).The story of what actually goes on in Paradise is written super well! The steamy scenes are rough and hot but also at times sweet. I seriously can't wait to see how this tangles in with the next book in this series! Katie if you are reading this then please write more of Piper!!
