Looks like a normal belt, works great for stashing cash!
This thing worked great for me. I liked that the buckle was plastic and indeed, I passed through security checks with the belt on in at least three countries and was never asked to remove it. I was initially worried that the process for shortening the belt would not leave a professional-looking end, but I followed the instructions (simple, cut then sear with flame) and it looked fine! I think I recall people saying the space inside is small, and it is, but that's because the belt is 1-1/4" wide (you know, like the width of *actual* webbing and webbing belts) and not 1-3/4" wide like most (all?) of the others. That's actually why I ended up buying this particular one. The others, to me, looked like they could be easily identified as "money belts" by their awkward looking, non-standard width. What's the point in "hiding" money in your belt when your belt screams "I'm designed to hide stuff!"? Anyway, the width dictated that US currency be folded into *exact* thirds, and the Thai Baht I was stashing had to fold into fourths. Still, with plenty of length to place several bills end to end (perhaps 4) I found it easy to overlap a little and put plenty of bills inside. And I found the belt comfortable to wear, which I think wider belts may not be. All in all, I was happy with the purchase and found it to meet my needs.

Good belt but wary of buckle
Overall I like this belt for its purpose, but I am hesitant about the quality of the buckle. It has not broken yet, but it snaps in place with two small, thin plastic tabs. If either of those breaks, then the belt will not work. Experience tells me that small plastic tabs like to break, particularly at inopportune moments. Since this is a travel belt, any time it breaks will likely be an inopportune moment. However, it has not shown any signs of breaking after a half dozen or so uses, so I am hopeful that it will last better than I fear. I will try to make a point of inspecting the tabs for wear before leaving on a trip where finding a substitute belt might be difficult.

I'm getting almost all the colors.
As is, this belt is just the right length, so no trimming required. The latch works easily and holds securely. I have three different colors of these already and am working on getting some more. Great for everyday wear..

Safely and securely hides cash
Bought this for my husband to use on a trip recently. Yes, you have to fold the bills in thirds for them to fit, but that should be expected otherwise the belt would have to be so wide it would likely not fit through belt loops. I can't recall now exactly how many bills fit, but I want to say it was roughly 10-12. The zipper closure is secure and my husband had no problems with the plastic clasp. However, it did set off an alarm going through airport security. When he walked through the detector and it went off the belt never crossed my mind because I felt certain with a plastic buckle and no metal parts it was not the problem. After he took it off, he went through just fine. I didn't think this belt provided RFID protection, but there is apparently something there that caused it to set off the alarm. On the way back, he made sure to not put on his belt until after clearing security.Overall, I would recommend this as an inexpensive way to conceal cash. It was only used on the one trip so far, so we can't speak to how well it will hold up with multiple uses, but for the price even if it only holds up for a couple of trips it is still worth the money.

Too small.
I bought this belt to replace one just like it on which the plastic buckle broke. The belts themselves are decent quality, but the flimsy plastic buckles break easily. Don't know if that would be the case with this one, though, it was too small and I can't use it.

Works Great
Works great. I have used this money belt on many trips and it does the job well. Depending on the type of bills I can usually get 9 bills into the belt. I have found that wrapping the bills in saran wrap helps keep them dry if you will be doing a lot of walking, hiking, or biking with the belt on. Have not tried to trim it yet but will consider since I have lost a few inches in the waist. Easy on and off and once cinched the belt holds it position.

Poor or defective/mismanufactured buckle design. Broke 1st time used and is now completely unusable.
Had a different version of this belt that I bought at REI 3-4 years ago. Wore it a lot in the summer. Very durable/reliable. I accidentally stepped on the buckle with a hard soled heel and it broke. Great belt, I think it may have been a Bison brand.Ordered the identical one that I am reviewing last January 2017 and the buckle broke snapping it closed this past December 2018. So it lasted almost a year. Wore it a lot in the summer. Thought it might be a fluke as my original belt was very durable so I thought nothing.Ordered a replacement one 1-26-18 and was putting it on for the first time yesterday with my ski pants and the buckle broke when I closed it. Either there has been a change in design of some sort, like maybe a different chemical composition for the plastic used, or this was a mis manufacturedproduct. I missed the return deadline by a couple of days. Will likely look for a replacement after I return from ski trip. Glad this wasn't the only belt that I brought on the trip!!

Buckle Debacle
Ok, I'm going to make a few people think I'm nuts here, since I took it out of the package and immediately snipped off the plastic belt buckle. I took the two D rings off another belt and clinched them into the existing loop. I know, it will now be picked up at TSA, but I'd rather take it off for a moment than take the chance of the buckle failing. I found that you can fit 4 rows of folded bills (stacks of 3) into the length of the zipper, another words a total of 12 bills. The bills have to be folded into three to fit. Like most zippers, the slide has a loop for the pull which sticks out which may irritate some if the belt is too tight. The belt fabric is very strong, you could tow a car with it. I gave it a four, because of the buckle.

I'm 74 yrs. Oo
Nice strong webbing. YKK zipper. My only wish is, that the belt was wider. It is 1 1/4" wide. I prefer wider Belts. Would have been nice at 1 3/4" or even 2"" wide.

Non functioning belt buckle...
Its an alright belt... nicely made and you wouldnt think it was anything other than a belt. Although my only grieve with it was the actual belt "buckle" is just there for show, you cant thread the remainder of the belt through it like an actual belt. I was given instructions that went along the lines of "wear the belt, and cut it to length, and then use a candle to melt the ends". In essence you would cut it to size and then the end would just rest inside the buckle. Thats all well and good but if you put on weight or whatever you have to readjust it. In the end, I cut off the buckle and attached my own. Its a nice product but bear in mind, this doesnt have an actual functional belt buckle, its just there for show.
