I have "brand" name electronic lock on my door that I spent well over $100 for. I wanted to get my parents one, but wanted to save so money so I tried this one. I am so mad that I spent the money on my "brand" name one. This lock is great.Pros:It looks very nice. I purchased the satin nickle and it adds a very sleek look to the door.Very easy to install and program. Honestly it took about 8 mins to remove the old lock and add the new.Super easy to use. Punch in your code and it automatically unlocks. To lock, just push one button.Cons: (Not really any, just a few observations)The part of the lock on the inside of the door is large. It take up about 8 inches on space on the back.If you live in a humid climate, like I do you may have to pull the doorknob when the lock opens and closes due to the wood swelling. The lock won't lock or retract if it hits resistance.Overall I love this lock. It looks great, works well, and is easy to use and install. For the price you can't beat it; in fact Amazon could raise the price (please don't) and it would still be worth it. I will be buying more and putting them on all my exterior doors.

Got this to make it simpler to get in and out of the back door.I wanted a lock that used a Kwikset keyway so that I could re-key it to use the same key as all the other locks on our house. This has a cylinder that uses a KW1 key blank, so it fit the bill.The half of the lock on the inside of the door is enormous. Has to be to hold the 4xAA batteries and motor actuator, but it takes some getting used to after looking at an ordinary deadbolt for years.The keypad is quite thin. I've used other keypad locks that stood off the door far more than this one does. The listing pictures show a marked curve to the keypad, but it's much more subtle in person. This is a good looking lock.Pretty easy install. The Amazon bolt dropped into the hole where the old Kwikset bolt was without modification. Screw holes even lined up. It was a little tricky to mount the keypad and get it screwed on, but manageable. Everything lined up and went together easily. Took about 15 minutes.Since this lock does not use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, adding the new codes is a bit contorted. You have to type programming codes into the keypad pretty quickly. If you take too long, it will reset, and you'll have to start over. Once I got it figured out, all went smoothly. If you somehow screw things up, there is a reset button in the battery compartment that puts it back to factory settings.Works great now that everything is set up. One touch to lock (I have auto lock turned off), and a code to open (same as programming - type it quickly or the lock will reset and you'll have to start over.)The lock operates smoothly and quietly. In fact, quieter than the old keyed deadbolt.Locking and unlocking from the inside is a simple twist of the knob, same as a keyed deadbolt.So far, I like the lock quite a bit. If it stands the test of time and keeps working, I'll consider it a success.

Installation went OK, though the clearance is really tight on the striker plate. If you don't get the plate exactly opposite the deadbolt, it will bind and have trouble locking. My real problem/frustration came with the programming. There a couple of things the instructions don't tell you:1. When deleting the default user code 1234, I had the door open and the deadbolt retracted as the instructions tell you. After deleting 1234, I tried that code, to make sure it was deleted, and the deadbolt came out! I thought the code had not been deleted. After MANY tries, I finally figured out that when you enter an invalid code, the deadbolt always comes out (locks). The deleted code will not unlock the door, but it will still lock it. I guess this is a "feature," but I wish they had told me.2. When you enter a user code to unlock the door, then press the lock/unlock button, the door unlocks. But when you close an unlocked door, then enter a user code and press the lock/unlock button to lock the door, the door does NOT lock. You have to press the lock/unlock button a SECOND TIME, then it locks. I spent a lot of time figuring this out. Wish they had told me!

I just finished installing this combo lock and it's working but I can't say it will last. The lock has the features for which I was looking and the price was good but it had some flaws that I repaired. First, one of the two long machine screws that hold the main pieces together would not screw in all the way. Upon closer examination, I discovered the screw hole had not been threaded thoroughly. I had a metric 5mm tap so I fixed that problem. I finished installing the lock and when I commanded the lock to extend the deadbolt, it extended but kept on trying two more times with a popping sound in between. It worked better when retracting but never on extending. I thought this can't be right so I removed the lock from the door and opened the back cover to reveal the mechanism. It uses a cam and two micro-switches to sense the bolt's position. One of the micro-switches had a bent lever arm that was simple to straighten. I put it back together and reinstalled the lock and it now works as expected. I decided to keep the lock and see how it performs. Hopefully, if there are more issues they appear within the 30-day return period. I intend to add more to this review after I've used it awhile. Even though I like the lock for it's features and ease of installation, I gave it one star because quality control sucks. I considered just returning it as soon as I ran into the first problem but whose to say the second one would be any better and I would have to change out the locks several more times. To be fair, other brands seem to have their own issues after reading their recent 1-star reviews.

This is the 3rd one I have bought. I have one on all my doors. Easy to install and fit into my hole perfect. Easy to use and makes me feel more secure. I love having a keyless entry. Makes it so much easier then to have to look for the right key.

Easy install, priced right.

When it worked it was great. Then it stopped working so I just used the key instead of a code. I’ve had this a total of 4 years now and it hasn’t been working for a while so no clue on when it corroded. Bummer because it looks nice. I did expect this to last at least 10 years.

Easy to install and use. We bought this in 2019 and have had no issues whatsoever, 7 years later and still going strong, no complaints!

Just installed it, so I'm just reviewing the installation process in the hope it might save some folks hours of head scratching.First step of configuration is MANDATORY and the manual does not make a good job at making it super obvious. That being said, even when done, it can give green blinking lights (aka success) yet NOT be configured properly.What the guide does not explain at all is that the first "identification process" step need to be done WHILE THE DOOR IS CLOSED. I'm not yet sure why but I think this might be where I spent a lot of time debugging the setup phase.Furthermore, I had many trial and errors before realising setup was not working properly due to the depth of the hole in the door frame not being depth enough (I am working with a pre-existing door setup). I assumed the lock setup forcing was some kind of self-adjusting process, but it was not. Increasing the depth of the hole made it not force anymore and setup was then successful.From there, all the configurations were working as expected.TLDR: The device will allow you to manage users and settings even if the setup phase is not completed successfully. So it was possible to manage users and get green lights, but the code themselves were not working when trying to use them.Best of luck all!
