Are these the wilton strips?

These are Chinese knock offs. No brand name. No packaging. Beware. I thought I was buying Wilton.

Can I connect two to fit a square pan?

You can, using straight or “T” pins, or paper clips as someone else suggested. I prefer the “T” pins myself. They’re heavy duty enough to connect well through the layers

what is pearl finish fabric insulation

I assume it is the heat resistant -flame retardant-finish applied to these baking pan strips. I learned about them on "Preppy Kitchen"-a YouTube channel for baking--check out his channel for his tips-I do not recommend them -they did not perform as advertised and I do not think they help with keeping the cake level during baking--hope this helps-
