MNB15150 - Ballpoint Pen Refills, Medium Point, Black Ink

I have a large collection of fine luxury writing instruments, but out of all of them i consider my trusty Mont Blanc Meisterstruck 163 ballpoint pen the finest out of the other fine non fountain pens i have. While i used to use Monteverde capless gel ink refils for this pen, i reverted back to the original Mont Blanc ballpoint ink tubes because they have the richest and smoothest ink i ahve ever used in a ballpoint pen. The Mont Blanc refills are a bit pricy, but when you consider the feeling of spending considerable time using your Mont Blanc pen as i do, then having the ink skip, or come out splotchy as it does with other Mont Blanc refils it can become infurating. While i do use Monteverde Rollerball refills in my other Mont Blanc pens, i will stick to only Mont Blanc Mystery Black ballpoint refills for my Meiesterstruck 163 ballpoint pen!

Kind of tricky territory. Some of these cartridges write on paper over hard surfaces and thermal paper but some don't. The knock offs made in China definitely do not and are not worth the money. The German made Mont Blanc refils are the genuine article though you can get a bad one of these also. The good ones write smoothly and feel much more precise. They lack the smoothness of a good Schaeffer but are decent writing.

This refill fits and works properly in my pen.

This is a little bit pricey compared to other Mont Blanc-compatible ballpoint pen refills, but it's worth it, I think. I usually use a ballpoint pen refill for a few years and if think of the period you exchange the refills, compatible refills are not much worth it.

It fits, but I wasn't very pleased that the package was opened - makes me think it might have been a used refill but there is no way to know for sure because the casing on the refill is metal. I guess I will just see how long it lasts.

I ordered 5 packs and mistakenly thought there were two per pack and it was only one per pack. The ink if fine
