Colour:M-white "The Q Acoustics remain brilliant, beautifully put-together speakers." 'What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision magazine' 5-star review.AFFORDABLE QUALITYThe Q Acoustic 2020i speakers are a quality pair of standmount speakers at a surprisingly affordable price. Designed by true hi-fi enthusiasts, the 2020i use excellent quality components for the price.SMOOTH TREBLE RESPONSEThe soft dome tweeter with a smooth, sweet sound is the ideal match for most budget amplifiers - that can be a little rough around the edges to say the least. The new tweeter unit is also decoupled from the rest of the cabinet, meaning that it isn't affected by vibration from the bass woofer unit - an impressive touch at this price.REVISED BASS WOOFER FOR SUPERIOR INTEGRATIONCombined with a redesigned crossover, the uprated woofer unit now integrates with the treble for a smoother and more seamless mid-range than before. The bass unit may be small, but its long-throw design also offers up a surprising amount of power for its size.CLASS-LEADING CONSTRUCTION QUALITYIn addition to sounding better than most speakers at this price the Q 2020i is also better finished. Flush-mounted drive units and curved edges not only improve the aesthetics but also help the sound. As an introduction to budget hi-fi, the Q Acoustics 2020i speakers are the ideal all-rounders. Does what it says on the tin
The Objective 2 (O2) amplifier is an open secret amongst headphone connoisseurs and audiophiles. Not a big brand product, but rather one designed by an audio engineer with a top reputation as an open-source (essentially free) design, aimed at fixing many of the problems commonly associated with headphone amplifiers. It can be built from parts by hobbyists and DIY electronics enthusiasts; for the rest of us, Epiphany Acoustics in the UK build them, and this is the end product. In short, it works very well, and does what is says on the tin. Another reviewer described it perfectly: transparent. An amplifier is ideally supposed to do just that - amplify the sound without changing it. That's a surprisingly difficult task, but this amplifier achieves it very well. It does not really add any colour or tone of its own. Importantly, it is also has an almost entirely black background; even at high volume levels there is no audible hiss. One thing to note about this is that the two gain levels by default are 1x and 2.5x (rather than 2.5x and 6x in the reference design). I don't know if Epiphany Acoustics would be willing to customise that if you need it (it's a matter of changing some resistors), but something to bear in mind. For most headphones, these gain levels will be suitable (I use HD-600 headphones with 300 ohms impedance with it and almost always the 1x gain level is fine, and I've never been more than halfway up the 2.5x level). One consequence of these lower gains is that it can (and does) ship with a 12v AC adapter (rather than the 15v adapter in the reference design).Good customer service from Epiphany Acoustics as well, who shipped it quickly and were quick to answer questions.Overall, a very good quality amplifier with an excellent spec, transparent clean performance and solid build, for a fraction of the price it would cost with a branded product. Highly recommended.

Bit pricey but the sound is good.
I got these years ago but found them uncomfortable, harsh sounding, and lacking in bass unless I got the position just right. Tried them again today with the silicone dual flanges, big one in one ear and medium in the other (it's just what I could find) and they are suddenly comfortable, consistent in bass, not too harsh, and sound great across the whole spectrum. Shedloads of bass but not remotely muddy, powerful clear midrange, and a decent top end thats clear but not harsh. I've listened to dub reggae and metal. They both sound right. Not too much bass on the metal but bags of it on the dub. Yet still the mids and highs are clear on the dub. I was gonna sell them but now I'm keeping them. I've recently got some great speakers and headphones and they compare very well. The only issue is the price, bit hefty for earphones.

Reserving judgement on the bass
Bought these because of great reports and award winners. So far my only gripe is the bass seems a bit soft but I need to test on some better source material. They are also very deep as I suppose you expect with a quality speaker, so don't seriously expect to wall hang or put on a bookshelf. There are rear horn type woofers so they need to stand at least 20cm away from a rear wall.

Outstanding little budget Headphone amplifier. Some of the ports ...
Outstanding little budget Headphone amplifier. Some of the ports could do with being on the rear rather than the face to make it look less cluttered but l can forgive it that due to its performance. This should power most audiophile headphones with ease, save for the more power hungry cans. Comes supplied with a power adaptor although it can be used from the built in rechargeable battery pack for on the go use. Not as portable as some other products in this price range but will most likely out strip them on performance.

Worth every Penny
One word is enough to sum up these SpeakersSUPERBI have had numerous speakers of various shapes and sizes in various systems and set-ups over many decades (5) and these are by far the best sounding/performing I've ever had or in fact heard.Gone at last is that all too familiar harsh/boxy/inadequate/ill defined/lacking bass definition/can't get it right sound. If you are after 'bookshelf' speakers (mine are on stands) for home use and are on a low budget then these could be your answer - they kick way, way above their price bracket.

Fantastic
I've tried the IE7's and others, the M5's wins easily. The bass is brilliant. The mid's are nice and punchy and theres plenty of range in the highs. They may not look great but don't be fooled, these guys pack a massive punch. If you like any kind of electronic music then get these. I've used them to listen to just about everything over the past two months and whilst everything sounds great, where they really shine is big bass, punchy styles. Try them with with dubstep or drum n bass and oh boy.....They take a while to burn in and the power could maybe get a bit much for those who prefer only light music (non-bass lovers look elsewhere). However a play around with the eq easily sorts that.

Very Transparent Sound, Great Budget Amp.
Source: EDAC (ODAC).Headphones: HD600, DT860, Focal Spirit Pro, ER4S.I have been reading NWAVGuy's (ODAC/O2 designer) blog for a while and decided to try the iconic ODAC and O2 out, however it's a bit hassle to order them from the US (JDS Labs), then I found Epiphany Acoustics.O2 sounds like a miniature LakePeople's G109P - tonally similar, but G109P surely has better dynamics, separation and detail level. However O2 (low gain, 1X) is even a little more transparent than G109P, which is an transparent professional headphone amp already. If you are after a flat, transparent and compact headphone amp, O2 is the choice. However be aware if you are looking for a PORTABLE amp, O2 is a HUGE portable amp or a tiny desktop amp. It's about twice as big as my RSA SR71A but significantly smaller than G109P.

Impressive
Aesthetically pleasing with high build quality. Sound very impressive which improves with use. Base response is not the same as a good floorstasnder but this is only noticeable on a head to head comparison. Nothing really compares at the price
