installing a router into this lift isn't simple.
The lift works well and does what it's supposed to. The problem is that no instructions are provided in actually installing the router into the lift, and there's a lot more to it than just shoving it in there and cranking down the screw. I've watched videos about installing the lift but they all skip the final step of installing the router. The thing is- the router has to be installed perfectly plumb into this table, which has to be perfectly level when you do it. The router bit has to be straight up and down. If the router is not plumb then you will always get bad results from using your table. Installing the router is like sighting in a rifle. I had to make a jig to help me level the router in the lift because there is no room to just hold a torpedo level to it. The router lift itself has no mechanism to assist in getting the router in plumb, that's all up to you. but, once it's installed, the lift works well and functions as designed.

Not The quality You are paying for
Only two opposing mounting screws make leveling a near impossibility. On anything but cast iron the crews are continually backing out of adjustment. (I have the phenolic table top) The plastic adapter collar for my Bosch 1617 collapsed when I over tightened the mounting screws after the bolts vibrated out when I used more discretion in tightening. Now with the new tightness there is a lot of resistance when raising or lowering the router. The leveling screws for the center top plate also backed out and I vacuumed up two of them buried in wood chips when cleaning up after first serious use. Cannot figure out what is more out of true, the phenolic table top or the router mounting plate. In either case the router plate will wobble left to right when using. A great concept for a router lift poorly constructed, low quality with a lot of marketing hype. Stay away. Certainly not worth the money.
