Gryphon Convertible Professional Stained Glass Grinder

Bought this for my wife who does stained glass professionally. It is the best one we have ever used. She likes the ability to put it on an angle as it relives the neck strain of grinding a lot of galls for large windows.

The tilted surface is wonderful. Keeps you from having to lean way over grinder. Using distilled water so the motor doesn’t get clogged with our extra hard well water. Cleaning out water and glass residue each day is a must and not a big deal. Really spits out a side spray and I recommend setting up a large shield off right side to protect the rest of your work space. Surface is a great size for glass maneuvering. Paper patterns glued to glass get really wet and tend to fall apart in all the pump water, so use heavy duty patterns .Assembly instructions were confusing but got it together and love it. I’ve only used it for 4 glass projects so I’m hoping it will last for years.

Apparently it is great as my wife is steadily grinding away and I have yet to hear gnashing of teeth or bad words. The tilt feature is really nice, allows her to sit while correcting "small irregularities" in her cutting! Only bad is it is sometimes kind of hard to hear the TV when she is correcting a large irregularity! If it holds up and I think it will, I couldn't have gotten her a better diamond glass grinder. Probably has 20 hours or so of use so far as she is doing a rather large and complicated window.

This is an amazing grinder. I love it. I have neck issues so I can turn the top to be slanted so I don't have to crane my neck looking down through the safety glass. However, after using for 4 months it started making a horrible noise. I e-mailed the company and they responded quickly and asked me for an audio of the sound which I did. Sounds like a bearing going out. I had to pay $38 to ship it to them but they will take care of the problem (which they said wouldn't affect the use, but a loud noise) and reward me with some goodies. I'm very pleased that they are taking care of me so quickly. Good company

Just got my grinder and I like it! I like that I can grind either flat or at the 30 degree angle, that seems like it will be helpful on long grinding days. Grinds like a hot knife through butter! Either this is a really good grinder or my old grinder and bit were way too old.

Best Grinder I ve ever used

I love this grinder! It is quiet and easy to use. I really like the reservoir pump. You really need to use a sponge or the water sprays all over the place but that is hardly a draw back. I also like that there is a cap over the post. This keeps any water from getting into the motor casing. The platform is close to the wheel so small pieces are still supported on the platform - no other tool is needed to hold them for grinding. I haven’t tried the tilt yet but so far I would highly recommend this grinder. Absolutely love it!

Love this grinder! After using an older flat grinder for years, I needed an angled one because of hand and neck issues. This grinder is amazing. It makes grinding glass like a hot knife through butter!
