This was a replacement for a traditional home tower that was having trouble keeping up w/ Windows 10. I had struggled with wanting to replace it with an expensive laptop with an NVME drive like the one I have from work. I like the compact size of of a laptop and the ridiculous fast performance of the NVME drive, but it's pretty expensive, particularly with the purchase of a USB docking station capable of interfacing w/ my 2-screen kvm. Imagine my surprise when I found this tiny little thing that supports multiple (4k) monitors with the twin HDMI AND the NVME drive options all the way to 2T (I settled for the 250G). And it's tiny! Yes, I give up expanding anything other than the memory. no PCI slots. But when was the last time I really installed a card for other than USB ports? Been 10+ years. So this is crazy fast and crazy small. I was a bit concerned w/ noise, but I have it sitting on my desk (no longer under it) and it's no noisier than my last tower. Yes, I hear it when the fan kicks in, but it isn't loud. I will say that I used 2 of the 4 USB ports for my kvm connection (one of which was for sound out, a 3mm audio pin to USB dongle I got for $10.... those speaker/headphone jacks ARE something I didn't think about and are not present on this unit, but easily replaced). So the last addition was a powered 7-port USB hub because I felt like I'll need more than 2 USB ports when I sometimes want to charge things.I cannot imagine a better solution to the "laptop, desktop, or tower" debate for a solid utility user like me.
