Last summer I used the Terro liquid traps on my deck. We had carpentar ants so bad that my enjoyment of the outside deck was affected. I hated those ants. The Terro Liquid traps worked great for treating the carpenter ants but they were hard to keep on the deck plus the liquid inside the trap would sometimes spill out when you opened it leaving a gob of goo with dead ants in it. So the form of that product was it's most negative aspect. This summer, we still were not seeing a super high number of ants (after laying down the liquid traps the previous summer just one time) just 1 or 2 here/there but before they got bad, I wanted to place new poison down. Decided to switch the form to these granules. Sprinkled this around perimeter of deck and it was a bit of a mess as the granules are on the large side and beige in color so they were very obvious on our deep red deck. Because my experience with the traps had been so positive I knew that this new form of the product would be effective just unsightly. I sprayed it down with the hose as instructed and left it on the deck for about day (and more in some places) then swept/rinsed it away. Now I figure most of the poison granules are now below and around the deck still helping with ants so probably it was not designed to be used on deck in that way, more for grass areas. It's been 1 week and 2 days since I laid it down and no signs of any ants or any crawly insects at all on the deck. My experience with the Terro ant killers has been positive and they work.

Works great ants are gone!

Product was easy to use, slight odor, not sure if it completely worked but I like to think it did something. No leakage, came out as you shake the bag. Bag was small but worth the money. One bag was used for most of my back yard. Effectiveness, 75% as a noticed small difference.

works pretty good around the perimeter of your home. i do this 3 times for the warmer months to control ants around the house.

Concept works, but Florida is ruthless and I may need more to coat it thicker

I didn't know such a small amount would be needed, but I'm glad we got 2 bags. This year we have had ANTS ANTS AND MORE ANTS!!! I followed the instructions, as I said it didn't take much, the worst part was moving the mulch away from the foundation to sprinkle it on the soil.

I bought this hoping to clear out the ants around my yard, but the results were disappointing. The only positive is that the packaging makes it incredibly easy to spread the granules without any mess. However, the effectiveness is questionable. I actually watched the ants walk right over the granules as if they weren't even there. While it claims to work on cockroaches and fleas too, I haven't seen any proof of that yet. If it can't even stop the ants, I'm not very hopeful.
