Wow!!!
First of all, I know a bunch of people might be worried that I bought the wrong copy of EVE AND ADAM.. thanks, but I know that it's only chapters 1-5. I had ordered this from the library, and I couldn't wait for it to get here, so I got a head start. Not only that, but I love that they offer free choice. 1-5 stuff because you can see if you really want to get the book or if it already sounds boring. I love Michael Grant' s writing style... the book literally sucks you in... DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS BOOK!!!!<<<<<DA PUT-PUT HAS SPOKEN>>>>><3

A few typical ethical questions regarding genetic engineering are brought up in this fun, young-adult novel
Eve and Adam is a cute, young adult science fiction book.Eve, a teen who is mostly worried about her homework, is in an accident and her leg is almost severed. Her mother shows up at the hospital and transfers her to the bio-pharmaceutical company that she owns. Mom sets daughter up with a project: design the perfect man, via genetic simulation on a computer. Eve's best friend helps her a bit as Eve thinks about the ideal intelligence level, muscles, and such. While Eve is in Weird Science land, Solo, her mother's ward, shows up and meets her. Solo gets Eve to see some truths about her life and involves her in his plan to destroy her mother. This book is definitely set up for young adults. I'm a forty-year-old housewife and I enjoyed it, but if I were to write it for my age group, there'd be a lot more substance in it.That said, I think I'll try to get my daughter to read it in a few years. There are some great discussion topics in it.Is there such a thing as too intelligent? Is helping a lot of people worth hurting a few? What is morally acceptable in the pursuit of research?

quick to the point
I've decided to read the sample first to see how bad this book is, seemingly setting how many bad ratings I've seen on goodreads, but after reading the sample, this is a pretty decent book. It's not terrible, but it's not that great also. It talks about this whole that has no point at all in this story but the good thing is, the story keeps going and doesn't bore you.

eve and adam book review
After reading Eve and Adam I was a little disappointed, I felt that there was not enough of a love triangle between the two boys and Evening. I think that it would have made an interesting sequel if the book ended with Adam meeting Eve leaving us on a cliffhanger. Compared to many other love triangle based books I have read (Twilight, Hunger games, Matched, ect.) I think it had plenty of suspense, romance, and action, plus plenty of shocking secrets and was very well written overall. Even so, it lacked in standing out from other books (aside from the whole woman creating man aspect) because the book was consisted of (SPOILER!!!!!!) a girl who finds out she has superhuman abilities, a love triangle where everyone is happily matched up in the end, and running from the villains. Over all though, I highly reccomend it to anyone interested in sci fi romance.

An unsatisfactory book sample
I wasn't paying attention. I thought it was BOOK 1-5. This is some sort of promotion and there wasn't even enough for me to know if the book was any good.

Three Stars
It just didn't really leave an impression on me.

Quick read
review I devoured this book in three sittings - life got in the way else I would've finished it in one.It starts out a little slow but once the story starts, it doesn't stop and moves a frenetic speed towards a rather dissatisfying ending. I'm assuming this is the first book in a series, because if it isn't I will be furious! Premise - brilliant. Prose - crisp and almost acerbic. Characters - different, interesting, over the top, lovely. Story - great but... I'm not sure what the but is here. I think I just wanted more out of this story particularly more from Solo who I thought was really the star of the book and deserved way more time telling his story than he got. Whole book written from Solo's POV please, Michael Grant! Also, do not let the title put you off becuase you think you know where the story will lead and how the relationship will work out. Without providing any spoilers, suffice it to say, you will be pleasantly surprised that Grant manages to avoid cliche.

Book Review: Eve & Adam by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate
After being hit by the car, Eve goes flying through the air. The next thing she’s vaguely aware of what’s happening – her mother arguing with the doctor and then being transferred to her rich mother’s pharmaceutical headquarters. It’s like a private hospital where Eve is the only patient. As she recovers, she’s got sexy Solo pushing her around in a wheelchair. Then she comes to an agreement with her mother to trial software to create the perfect man for herself, who she names Adam. But there are secrets everywhere. Eve is about to uncover these secrets and then will have to make some difficult choices about what to do with the truth.I really wanted to enjoy this book. Especially after loving Michael Grant’s Gone Series and knowing that Katherine Applegate is his wife. I hate to give a bad review, but I was disappointed with Eve & Adam.I just didn’t care about any of the characters. At the beginning of the book as Eve is flying through the air thinking that her life is about to end. Rather than thinking of loved ones, she thinks about an Apple. I felt that the authors had done this conceitedly to make links to Adam & Eve for the purpose of marketing the book. It felt unnatural and therefore Eve felt unreal.Solo marginally more real, but was a great source of conflict for me. He’s this techno whizz-kid who is described as looking like a surfer, yet doesn’t know some of the fundamental details of his own history. Details that would have been in the computer systems that he so expertly knows after living at the pharmaceutical headquarters for so long.Aislin, Eve’s best friend did have some believability and depth but was a minor character. It’s always worrying when authors make a minor character more interesting than a main character.A problem I had with all of the characters is that they conveniently had all of the knowledge, skills, equipment and resources as they needed them. The authors did this by slotting a sentence of backstory in that the reader didn’t know up until the point the characters needed something. It felt like very convenient and lazy storytelling. The plot was tediously predictable at times verged on being boring. The only reason I carried on reading when I felt bored was because I was half way through the book. I hoped it would get better, have some interesting plot twists, but it didn’t.Eve & Adam isn’t badly written. The description, dialogue, grammar, punctuation and spelling are all good. It was just the characters and plot that I didn’t enjoy.

Disappointing as I usually love this author
Maybe I'm being a little harsh giving it three stars but I was really disappointed by this book. I was expecting more focus on the science and the moral issues of designing humans etc. but instead this is mostly just a basic romance with occasional science related plot points. Also about half the book is written from Solo's POV and I find him a really unlikable character who angsts because Eve is pretty and he's crushing on her. I enjoyed the science parts and (Eve's best friend) Aislin's character but overall this as a disappointing read given how much I've loved other Michael Grant books. If you're considering reading one of his books I'd recommend the Gone series instead.

Magic on paper. The perfect human in a perfect book!
This book is fun and entertaining. Keeping you glued to the pages, this page turner is a must read for young adults and older. The book opens to what I visualised in my head as a slow motion abstract with this pulsating important red apple. The this scream, and your in the hospital. Eve is taken to her mom's hight tech hospital/medical labs/hotel, which seems quite traumatic and questionable behaviour on the mothers part; as her daughter just had surgery reconnecting her leg. Eve's moved to her mom's hospital with her mom's assistant Solo by her side. You view the story through Eve and Solo's perspective throughout the book switching perspective every few pages. With family secrets and betrayal, this book will entertain you, making you laugh at times. Some how Katherine Applegate (The one and only ivan) and Michael Grant (Gone series, Bzrk) some how manage to describe creating the perfect boy, when looking through Adam's perspective half way - end of the book his reactions from people and the way he's described made me the reader wanting, needing to see this perfect man. You will leave this book with a fictional crush and truly entertained with a thirst for a sequel.

New and Exciting novel from the author of Gone
Eve and Adam – Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate‘And girl created boy’After being involved in a near fatal car accident Evening Spiker is rushed from hospital to her mother’s research facility. There she is left to heal. Just when Eve thinks she is about to die – not from her injuries, but from boredom – her mother gives her a unique project. Create the perfect boy. Using groundbreaking technology and her intelligence, Eve creates Adam. And he’ll be perfect… won’t he?I started this book after finishing the last but one novel in Grant’s most popular series: Gone. I needed more and turned to Eve and Adam, and instantly I was intrigued, its premise and narrative was new and exciting. The science fiction elements carefully weaved in here and there therefore making it interesting and exciting. The novel not alludes to the Bible but also a modern Frankenstein with the main plot line focusing on the protagonist creating the ‘perfect’ boy. The themes in the novel were not just there, they were almost like a rhetorical question that made you think and constantly question the narrative and the characters. However this never distracted from the main plot and it was balanced both well and effectively. The protagonist, Eve Spiker, was intriguing the moment she appeared on the page. Her personality and intelligence made her all the more real as she works through her project, creating the perfect boy. Her humour and wit made her seem lifelike as she developed throughout the narrative, and responded to the plot twists that were present throughout. Overall her character was well executed and a realistic portrayal of her gender and age. Secondary characters such as Solo and Adam were also interesting to read; the polar opposites of these characters made them develop and appear three dimensional. However at times other characters were not as well executed.Overall this is a strong novel by two great authors; its narrative is unique and interesting to readRated: Four StarsAge Rating: 14 +For the original and more book reviews, check out my website https://emsview.wordpress.com

I really wanted to love it, but...........
I was going to give this book 3.5 stars but thought that was a little harsh, so I gave it 4 stars instead. The reason is, Although the story line is good, I just couldn't like Eve. I absolutely loved the story line as I love anything to do with genetics and this one was amazing! SHE GOT TO MAKE THE PERFECT GUY!!! who wouldn't want that?!?! amazing twist and turns and good amount of action to keep the reader going. But to me Eve really let the story down. I just couldn't bring myself to connect with her or even like her. She's okay, just not my cup of tea. Eve said she never wanted to be the girl with the rich parents, but to me she was. I couldn't believe the love story between Eve and Solo, they didn't spend that much time together and they kissed once and suddenly they were in love. I'm all for love story's, even the ones that happens really fast, but this one - to me - wasn't believable. If there is a second book to come out (I'm not sure) I don't know if I will continue with the series. I might give it another go to see if I can like Eve. I've read books were I don't really like the main character, but found I started to like them as the series continues. Maybe Eve just needs to grow a little more as a character? We'll see.

Appealing and Interesting!
The blurb was very appealing. I'm on the look out for books of this topic all the time. It was very thought provoking and I was finished quite quick as I didn't want to put it down! I felt it lacked something but I believe this to be the fact that I'm an adult and I think the target audience is teen.Overall a lovely, interesting read.

disappointing
Was really looking forward to reading this but was so disappointed at how boring it was. It did not engage me at all and the characters were not very exciting to read about the description of Solo made me dislike him straight away. You don't even get to meet Adam until your near the end of the book and i pretty much figure what was going to happen before it even happened.

Not as gripping as the 'Gone' series.
Although I enjoyed this book, the overall premise that a young girl could build a viable person so quickly by picking eye colour, hair colour etc from a computer programme was too presposterous to sustain credibility. The underlying ideas of the story needed more development although the main characters were well drawn and engaging. In many ways this seems like a rushed novel which may be a result of the collaboration in writing. Still a good read but not one of Michael Grant's best.

Well worth the read
Somewhat predictable, and a lot less uncomfortable than gone. This makes for a thoroughly entertaining read. I enjoyed it from the first page to the last. As always with Mr Grant, very well written. I know his views on Amazon are generally in the negative, but it's worth mentioning I paid full price for this one, even if it was downloaded, and I don't feel cheated by the price. I think I may look for other titles by the author.

Great book. I love michael grant
Great book. I love michael grant. The ending wrapped up a bit too quickly for my liking, but I read it in two sittings so what can you expect from a small book? Either way, I enjoyed the plot and execution.

Good, could have been longer
I think I would recommend this book to younger teen readers because of its length and how quickly it can be read. The story was good, and the writing fast paced. However, this meant that you couldn't get a very clear sense of character and the book was lacking descriptions. I gave the book 4 out of 5 stars, however it is probably more deserving of 3 and a half. My score was mainly out of loyalty to one of its authors, Michael Grant, who is responsible for one of my favourite YA series ever, GONE.

Awesome!
Having read the Gone series by Michael Grant I was easily tempted into buying this book that sounded like a great idea.I was not disappointed. I read it in three sittings, such is the pull of the story.Full of action and twisted dystopian science, I cannot wait for what I hope will be a series.

Personally Didn't Like The Book
Having read the 'Gone' series by Michael Grant, I was interested in this book, and that was the main reason I bought it, but this didn't personally appeal to me, and I fount the characters to be quite bland, and a bit unbelievable.
