Big Book of Fashion Illustration mini edition: A sourcebook of contemporary illustration

This is quite a hefty, good-sized paperback.Described as a "source book of contemporary illustration" it pretty well is just that; aside from a few pages of introduction, that is the only text - the book is packed with page after page of full-colour artwork executed in a wide variety of media; there's a good ratio of traditional drawing/painting examples to digital or digitally combined work, with Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator as prominent as good o`l pencil n` paper, gouache/watercolour and assorted graphic materials. The illustrations are split into seven sections under the loose headings of Womanswear, Menswear, Youth Culture, Children, Sport, Accessories and Beauty.An inspiring collection of work from a wide range of artists and designers making this a hugely enjoyable and very useful volume indeed; it should appeal to anyone interested in drawing/painting, design, illustration and - of course - fashion.

A square book, glossy page after glossy page of images of fashion illustration.This small book is strong in the broad variety of illustrating styles that it covers.It inspires, although not every style of illustration pleases.A wonderful resource that reveals contemporary, commercial trends in illustration.

I saw this on a guide of ideas - what to buy your teen who wants to be a fashion designer.It had good reviews and I bought it as a Christmas pressie. My daughter is enjoying it and found all the different designs inspiring. There is not much text though - it is illustrations.

Really useful for designing

Great book, many illustrations covering men, women and children. Great resource for the classroom.

Stuffed full of amazing, creative and original drawings, this book far exceeded my expectations. I fail to see how anyone could not be inspired by this book with its plethora of styles and great layout. I suspect that the target market is fashion students but my 9 year old budding artist absolutely adores it and so do I as someone with a casual interest in the subject.
