Beauty from the inside out
I loved this book for several reasons: 1) it confirmed to me the importance of looking good 2) that wanting to look good doesn't mean you're superficial 3) it was written by a dermatologist and a psychiatrist and they reference various research throughout the book. The authors include little nuggets of beauty information as well as debunk beauty myths. They viewed the desire for beauty from a psychological perspective and at the end of the day, the intended goal for any woman (or man) reading this book is to be the best version of themselves. Not to aspire to be a magazine's version of beauty but their own version of beautiful.

The Perfect Formula
Take the professional expertise of two female physicians (both of whom are wives and mothers) and you come up with the perfect formula for understanding and developing beauty (from the inside out). Dr. Debra Luftman, a Beverly Hills dermatologist and Dr. Eva Ritvo, a South Beach psychiatrist, became fast friends many years ago and have developed an effective synergy as they educate and counsel women from all walks of life on matters of looking their best and living optimally. With Dr. Debra offering dermatological advice on the one hand and Dr. Eva offering emotional and behavioral counsel on the other hand, readers will find themselves in good hands indeed.Expect to be surprised throughout the pages of this comprehensive resource on all things pertaining to caring for one's outer person as well as developing a life coaching plan for living with intention. In all honesty, these physician friends will answer every question inquiring women want to know about making the most of what they have been given in the (talents/gifts/passions) department to impact their communities and families and friends. This isn't a book about just looking pretty...this text will challenge women to look beyond the mirror into the heart and soul of making their lives meaningful ones.Michele Howe, author of Burdens Do a Body Good: Meeting Life's Challenges with Strength (and Soul)

Engaging, Insightful, Informative
I don't spend a lot of time on these issues, as I have my hands full managing kids, household, career, marriage - I purchased this book at the recommendation of a friend who had found it very valuable, and whose opinion I find trustworthy - I'm so pleased and grateful to have read it, which I did cover to cover - I found the authors engaging, candid, genuine, and their book informative, accessible and inspiring - most importantly, I found the book credible and feel the authors really know of what they speak - the book is informed by their life experiences as wives, mothers, physicians and friends and I found so many of their messages uplifting. A book I will be recommending and sharing with my community of friends. Job well done, and a great service to women everywhere, Debra and Eva!!!

from a doctor's point of view
So many of my patient's forget that you have to feel good to look good. This book helps to show you how to do both and is a very fun read, and that comes from a physician who sees complications and disorders of the mind and body every day.May take away some of my business... but it's worth it to me if folks finally get the message that beauty is not skin deep. Of course looking good does help the psyche as well... hey, maybe there really is a beauty-brain loop here! WELL DONE!
