Great price for the features
Pro's:Strong performance so far from the processor.Capable performance from the graphics card. I ran upper mid settings on Arkham City with absolutely no lag. You're not going to be playing 4k maxed out Crysis level games, but you wouldn't be buying a laptop for that anyways.Screen is fine. I'm not convinced anyone needs a 4k screen anyways. You'd have to be trying real hard to tell the difference. But because it's 14" there are some scaling issues since most programs aren't optimized for that.Good trackpad. Definitely better than the Dell inspiron 7000 15.6" that I tested.Good design. I will happily show this off in public. The red accents aren't ostentatious.Hinge feels sturdy so far.8GB RAM is adequate for most users, unless you're doing high quality picture/video work.Cons:Keys on the keyboard aren't great. You could press a key and have only the corner of the key depress. No backlit keyboard.Scaling issues as mentioned.Headphone jack is halfway up the computer, when it should be close to the front.Only 500 GBAll in all, minor complaints. Good performance for all but the highest level programs, for only $700.

cheap, fast, sleek, and very unreliable - not worth even $1
I bought this laptop on May 17, now June 22 and the motherboard's audio connector is dead.On Wednesday 6/19, 2 days after the 30 days return policy, the speakers stopped working. I thought the speakers were bad so I called Lenovo and they shipped me new speakers which I received today 6/22. After replacing the new speakers, still same problem. This means my motherboard's audio connector is dead. I will have to ship my laptop to their depot for repair.I wouldn't care if these $10 speakers die but if one piece of the motherboard is dead, more than likely every other piece will start to die later on. This really bothers me because this laptop is only 32 days old and the motherboard is already starting to die. And the issue is it will probably take 1-2 weeks to repair my laptop, in which case I won't have a laptop to use !!! I wish I just saved up money to buy a real computer. This laptop is just made of trash picked up from Lenovo factory floor put together with a Lenovo brand stamped on top of the LCD bezel !Save your $700 and save $1500 to buy a real gaming laptop. It is not worth it going through the trouble I did. I was able to replace the parts because I've worked on Lenovo products for 7 years. And even so, it still bothers me replacing the parts not because of the replacing job itself but because of the defective parts, these parts shouldn't die in 32 days, that is just unreliable POS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=================================================- Horrible touch-pad, it's unbearable. It's super hard. So hard, I hurt my fingers using the laptop. It's more accurate than the crap shoot T440s line and the T450/T450s. It seems that Lenovo is just trying to follow fashion and leave functions out. All the trackpad are garbage on all of these models.- Keyboard is ok. 8 out of 10. It's harder than the typical Thinkpad T series like T430/T440. I don't know why may be they assume gamers will destroy the keyboard? But definitely better than the keyboard on an Apple macbook. You can't feel anything on a macbook, it's like you're typing on air.- Horrible motherboard. The UEFI does not boot if you have another HDD plugged into the laptop, even if you disable USB booting, it still won't boot. It seems like the motherboard keeps looking at the USB devices regardless what you select in the mother board.- After upgrading the BIOS using Lenovo software, I can no longer boot through UEFI. The internal HDD is no longer shown in the UEFI boot menu. Great lenovo !!!!- Bloatware as usual. Tons of them.- LED screen is ok. I don't have any problem looking at it. People say it has bad viewing angle but I'm not looking at it from an angle so I don't care. The level of saturation, brightness, and complexity are right on. Not as good as the $1000 Samsung 60" LED TV but it plays video beautifully.- Processor is screaming fast, I got the i7 5500U.- The video card is incredibly fast. It's faster than the GTX 260. I can play non-intensive games only. Games like Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, and WOW, I have to reduce the resolution to absolute minimum. Even so, those 3 games run super slow even with all graphic settings turned down. For games like BF4, COD, don't even try.- No there is no backlit keyboard but I don't care. Just don't play in the dark but if you do, bring a flash light. If you are going undercover or one of those NSA covert operation, this is not the laptop for you.- The non-SSD hdd makes noise, not loud enough to bother you but low enough for you to hear. I suggest upgrade to a 512 SSD when u got cash or 256 SSD if u don't install huge games.- No heat that I can feel on the keyboard surface. The fan is loud if you play video game consistently but it is expected so no surprises here ! Get a laptop cooler if you intend to replace this laptop anytime soon.- The outside looks sleek and expensive. LCD bezel looks super plastic-y cheap.- Other than that, it's a fast and cheap laptop. It does everything for me for the price of $700, there isn't another one in the market right now. So wait or spend more cash to get a different laptop, up to you.

It simply offers good components at every turn
I want to preface this review by saying I am judging my purchase based on the $700 I spent for this laptop (the suggested retail through Lenovo is higher). So if you are looking to buy this laptop in the price range that I purchased it for, then this will be relevant to you. This laptop, though it has some flaws, is practically a steal. If you compare the specs at this price range, I promise you that this laptop will come out on top overall. It simply offers good components at every turn, so the complete package of this laptop is hard to beat.PROS:- i7-5500U processor will fly through just about anything. It's not top of the line (don't let the i7 throw you), but it is modern, fast, and reliable. Don't expect the processor to bottleneck anything you want this laptop to do.- The R9 M275 GPU is a very solid budget graphics card. If you're buying a laptop for serious gaming, you simply have to spend a lot more money than this. Bottom line is that this GPU will handle any game you throw at it easily... Just not on high settings. I find that I can play almost every game at 1080p at medium or medium-low settings, or any game at 720p at high settings. For comparison sake, this GPU benchmarks similarly to the GTX 760M. This sits inbetween the 950M and 940M (closer to the 950M). Overall, solid.- The pictures don't do the laptop many favors, but the profile is reasonably thin and compact. It looks sleek with its design and has a look and feel wedged inbetween an ultrabook and laptop. Very mobile in this respect.- The trackpad works perfectly. It's responsive, responds to gestures consistently, and does not detract from the usage of the laptop. I had to return an HP for this very issue, so I'm pleased to see that there are no hiccups with the Lenovo.- When the laptop is closed, it looks nice and feels solid. I don't feel as though if I dropped it while holding it this way it would suffer any major damage. Probably just scuffs.CONS:- The screen, although 1080p, is not very crisp. Especially with the windows prompts, there is noticeable blurry effect. It's disappointing and my main reason for removing a star from this review. Still, it looks good when watching movies or playing games.- You'll probably have to be very gentle with the screen of this laptop. It's thin and made of plastic, so I don't know if it would survive a lengthy tumble when opened. You'd have to be negligent for anything to happen, but it's a con worth noting.- This laptop isn't very heavy, but it isn't very light. For example, if it's closed and you're carrying it around (even not in a case), you're hardly going to notice it. If you go to hand the opened laptop over to someone with one hand, it's a little more of a struggle. It's not exactly a con, I would just say it's an average weight.- If you need a laptop to play your DVDs, this one does not have an optical drive.tl;dr - This is not a flawless laptop. But you get some serious bang for your buck. Very pleased with it. Would buy again.

Poor cooling system
Poor cooling system, terrible mouse pad ( it had a defection when i bought it), the performance goes down drastically when the battery goes down to 20 percent. The keyboard isn't comfortable for typing. Gaming: most recent games are unplayable at 1080p, and it overheats very easily.
