Fireplace chimney draftstopper plug (round) - fits most metal, zero-clearance fireplaces.

It took some work, but I was able to get a tight seal around my 8" hole.It seems expensive for what it is, but seemingly worth it, as it's overall well made and it works.

I knew that I had some draft issues around my fireplace box and that our damper didn't close 100%. My current solution was that lovely retail store plastic film to seal the drafts. I was hoping to have a product that would eliminate my needs for this plastic wrap. Based on reviewing two different manufacturer's products, websites, installation videos, and reviews I ordered this circular product. I improperly assumed it went up beyond the damper into our round chimney flue rather than how it actually went around the damper in the fireplace box. Regardless, this product is still sealing the noticeable drafts around our damper/flue, but the square variety would have likely be a better decision for my construction. The hardest part was installation. It took me at least 4 times to get a proper seal around our damper handle. The hose to inflate the product could have been a bit longer so I didn't need to stick my head/body in the fireplace, but I was able to make it work. You need to work slowly and carefully and reposition the product appropriately as you inflate to make certain that you don't puncture/scratch the plastic as while it is a thicker mil I assume it isn't puncture proof. The manufacturer indicated that there is no replacement/warranty so don't puncture this product. Once installed I still had drafts coming from around my fireplace box excluding the damper/flue area and a better selection for my personal home needs would have been to invest a chimney cap up on top to seal the entire fireplace off rather than an inflatable plug, but that isn't this product's fault. If you need a product to remove/install frequently based on fireplace use this is likely not the best product for your needs.

Was a little bit too big to fit in my fireplace, but returned it, and got refund within a week. Good for shipping to CA, to a marketplace vender.Seems liked a decent product.

Ive put it in my fireplace but I still have a bit of a draft. I think its an OK product but make sure you should order teh round one and not teh square one. I do think its a bit overpriced for what its made of. It was easy to install and not much to it so hence teh overprice complaint. If it does teh job its worth it but like I said I still get a bit of a draft...Ill make sure I shoul not have ordered the square one instead though in all fairness to the company. Ive had conversations with the company in the past and they are very service oriented and take their customer service business seriously.

I love this product. I was closing off my fireplace with plastic sheets. Yuck! Not at all pretty. Now I installed my plug and nobody sees it. I can now remove all that ugly plastic and show off my wood burning fireplace without ever having to light a match. After installing the plug, I installed an electric fireplace log also from Amazon and I can use them both since the heater does not effect the plug as the heater box is cool. For energy savings... Get One.. will save on heating and air conditioning. No more escaping through the chimney.

It does not appear to be a simple project when you release it from its storage bag, but in reality, it only takes but a few moments of time to install. With this current cold, cold weather I decided to "store" the fireplace for a few days and this draftstopper does a fine job of blocking the flue on our newer model fireplace. Your hands will get sooty when installing this properly in a used fireplace. So always be prepared to wash up.Unfortunately the draftstopper made me realize that my cold drafts were more than just the flue. My fireplace was very drafty around the edges as well. I never knew that and the Battic Door product is helping me draft-proof my fire box in total.Thank you, Battic Door Energy!

Easy to put up. Unfortunately, and I thought this might be the case, our fireplace has air that goes around the fire box and comes out under the fireplace. This obviously doesn't block that air. It does a great job blocking what was coming in through the chimney flue.

I really like this product. It did a great job sealing out the heat and cold that was coming down the chimney. Got a little dirty putting it in but that was really no big deal.

Item is effective and easy to install. Had similar experience to other buyers in that we did not identify exact location of the drafts in our fireplace: most of the air was seeping out around our fireplace insert. Definitely this product will seal your chimney completely if you have no fireplace insert but take care to identify all areas for air leakage or you may be disappointed with this purchase despite it not being the fault of the product.

Works very well to keep drafts out during cold weather.
