I have been using hydrolysed collagen peptide products for general joint and skin maintenance, rather than to treat any specific problem. Hence I haven't given a pain relief rating. There are a large number of brands currently on the market of which I've tried more than half a dozen now. Maybe a number of them are actually sourced from the same production lines and only differ in their packaging and branding. There doesn't seem to be a vast degree of difference in the products or their amino acid profiles. The price certainly varies considerably but the consumer experience rather less so. The big brand American imports are expensive and not noticeably better than UK or European sourced collagen products. I guess you pay a premium for their research and the importation shipping costs. Although all brands make a point about being unflavoured or having a 'neutral' taste, its fair to say that they all do have that characteristic slightly stale bovine collagen taste to at least some degree. The very nature of the product presumably makes that unavoidable. The Wellgard is 'OK' in that respect - its not my absolute favourite tasting brand, but certainly tastes no worse than most others I've tried, and seems to dissolve just as easily. In most flavoured drinks, such as coffee for instance, you really don't notice the collagen taste anyway. In terms of clinical efficacy, it seems unlikely that there would be a great deal of difference between the competing brands, so whether or not Wellgard's product actually works any better because of its slightly different amino profile is anyone's guess. However the obvious advantage lies in that it is a well packaged, well presented product coming from the UK, and offers much better value for money than comparable brands imported from overseas.

Not sure if I see the benefits yet but I do feel fuller when I drink it and makes me thirsty the whole day which helps me keep my water intake more.

So far, so good! First if all, my knees have stopped clicking when I do stairs! The wear an tear on my bones ((I'm clocking 70) has been quite a problem, particularly with my knees, back and shoulders. After just 3 weeks of taking this brilliant product, recommended by a friend, I can't believe the difference already! My husband's, who doesn't find it easy to compliment, stated that my skin looks wonderful! Wow! Also, my knees don't ache, my back feels more 'mobile' and my shoulders, which really gave me some gip, have almost stopped hurting! I'm looking forward to waht happens next - nails and hair particularly. Hair isn't falling out nearly as much, it will take time for a real improvement with nails and hair. Watch this space. I'll review again in a few months. As for the taste, this doesn't bother me. I take it in the morning with warm water, no problem. I don't like it in tea, there is a subtle change in flavour. All in all there is nothing to dislike about this product, given it a try!

I started taking this collagen with black coffee or red bush tea every morning, about 2 weeks ago. I am very sensitive to odours and taste, and I am happy to report that I can’t smell it and the taste is noticeable but hasn’t put me off at all. I’m super relieved. I can now try the product for long enough to see if I enjoy any noticeable benefits. I will report back in a few weeks.

Only started this product this week. But mixes well into coffee and shakes. No flavour and dissolves well. Really hoping it helps with hair loss and perimenopause as everyone is raving about collagen at the moment. So far great product and bought it on offers for less that £17.

This is the best collagen I have ever used I use it every day by mixing in my morning coffee it’s tasteless scent less and makes my coffee nice and creamy. It’s a high dose of collagen in every 2 tablespoons and mixes so easy into my coffee. This is my staple product I would highly recommend to anyone .

I have been using this for 8 weeks. I put it in my morning smoothies. I feel so much better and my hair, which is usually very fine has thickened and is so much better. My skin is clearer too.
