Boots are great!
These Reebok Rapid Response boots are great! I was wearing a different brand, cheapier pair of boots before deciding to buy these that had great reviews. But after a couple of months, they still were uncomfortable. The heel on my left foot began hurting when wearing them. So after reading great internet reviews about these boots, I bought them and was hoping for the best. I'll be honest, the first couple days breaking them in was brutal on the tops of my toes where the boot bends when you walk. I walk about 7-8k steps in them at work. But after 2 days, they became less painful. By the 4th day I hardly felt any pain. I'm on day 5 now and I don't feel any pain from my toes or heel. So the other pair of boots caused the heel pain. They are not completely broken in yet but day 5, they are comfortable. I can tell that these are going to be great boots. The fit was right on. I love the aggressive look of the sole pattern. Zipper is smooth, doesn't bend up. Composite toe is light weight, feels like I'm wearing sneakers. These boots feel like they can handle multiple types of terrain. Mostly, I walk on concrete but occasionally, mud, dirt, rocks. Tips: 1. Wear thick socks, I wore thick wool socks to help with the pain. 2. Loosen the laces, don't crank them down. 3. Pull the side zipper down about an inch or two. It does help a lot by relieving the pressure and pain. 4. Walk in them a lot. The more you can tolerate walking in them, the faster the breaking in will be. If it's too painful, walk slower, it helps. 5. Spray them with a water resistant spray for boots. I've worked in the rain, walking through puddles and no water has gotten in them. Overall, I am extremely happy with these boots. They are a bit pricey but as I get older, my feet can't handle cheap boots anymore. So, my feet are worth the cost of these boots. I will never cheap out on boots again. Definitely will buy these again.

Excellent work boots
These side zips work great, compared to many other brands. The zippers don't get jammed up even after being exposed to water, dirt and dust. The boots are on the wider side so be aware of your foot type and preferences. I have slightly wide yet thin feet and high arches so the Rapid Responses are the closest to a perfect fit. The composite toe is light yet protects you from impacts and heavy objects. I've worn Rapid Responses in temperate, desert, tropical and sub-zero climates and these boots will hold up to those environments. You can stand in small water puddles or small snow banks and your feet will stay dry, however if there's a ton of snow & ice you might want to break out some arctic boots. I originally wore these boots in sage green as a USAF vehicle mechanic, and literally rotted them out from the inside from doing hundreds of fluid changes in all sorts of climates. I had a coyote brown pair for one of my deployments that was already kind of old that I wore until the rear soles were flapping around. This was because the base had large rocks everywhere that would immediately chew up lesser shoes. And the only way that these boots actually wore down that much was from heavy usage in extreme heat and cold. I miss the sage green color versions, however these being available in black/coyote/tan is ideal for whatever your shop/preferences are. For how comfy and long lasting these boots are, they are definitely worth the price. The soles are aggressive enough to perform in rough terrain yet they still have good traction on concrete. The laces are soft and springy and thus are easy to tie. Pair these Reebok Rapid Responses with a good insole and you are set for getting work done in a comfy manner. I'm actually wearing a pair of these right now since I am going to work on the car soon, and I feel as ready as ever to handle business.

Very comfortable - plus easy on / off at airports.
I have bought these since 2013. Maybe earlier. Don’t recall. I DO know that they are great boots. Light weight and very comfortable. I work in a hybrid office and work environment, so I cannot attest to longevity in a harsh work environment, but these are great boots from what I have experienced. This is the 12th pair I’ve purchased.

Very comfortable, no break in needed.
Nice boots, comfortable out of the box, no break in needed for me. True to size in a 13W, maybe just a little more room in the toe box than most, a good thing for me. Surprisingly difficult to get on even with the zipper all the way down, really needs a heal pull loop on the boot. Easy to get off however. Appear to be well made. The narrow tread pattern on the sole picks up and holds small rocks however so be careful if you have wood floors, my Rocky’s had a larger pattern and didn’t do this. I do like not having to lace up however, my first pair of zip up boots. The inner sole insert offers nice support and cushion. Reebok really should add a heal pull though.

Great for Daily Use!
Please Note: I am not a member of any armed forces, but I have been wearing these boots virtually daily for 10 months. I bought these to replace the Belleville brand boots I took from my dad (the Bellevile boots are very old and don't fit right). I very much like military style boots, and I wanted to find a pair to use daily. Reebok appealed to me because of their amazon prime status, price, and most importantly color/size/insulation/safety-toe options. I wanted a pair I could use year 'round so I opted for the non-insulated pair. At the time, I spent several days of the week in a machine shop, so I selected the safety toe option. If available, I would have opted for a waterproof and safety toe version. These are my observations: -The boots took one day of standing/ walking for 8 hours to break in. My feet were sore, but after that I had no problems. They are very comfortable and the athletic insert provides good cushioning for standing/ walking/ trail hiking. I have not done any regular running in these boots, so I cannot comment on that subject. Combined with wool socks, they have kept my feet warm for short excursions into Missouri winter weather. These are not insulated, so extended stays in the cold may become uncomfortable. In the summer, they are breathable enough to be comfortable but are obviously warmer than sneakers. -The tread is very deep on these, deeper than any other shoe I've seen. I am sure it helps with traction on loose dirt or snow. -I very much enjoy the black smooth leather. Most boots now days seem to be moving toward the suede desert or olive. This is a personal preference, but I am glad that Reebok still offers smooth black. -These boots are not supposed to be waterproof, and they are not. They have protected my feet from heavy rain, but if you step in deep water that reaches the boot's tongue, your feet will soak. -At first I was reluctant to get boots with a side zipper (another feature apparently becoming standard), but they ended up being very convenient. These boots will not come off unless they are untied or unzipped, and the zipper is a way quicker option. There is a small velcro flap to restrict the zipper from becoming accidentally moved during use. In addition, the zipper seems to be of great quality and has not faulted once. -The composite safety toe seems to work well. Thankfully, nothing serious has tested their quality, but no flexing or cracking has resulted from my friends jumping/ stomping on them to see if they work (not very scientific- I know). -The boots are 100% metal free, which will be a plus if I have to go through a metal detector often. However, I have still had to take them off for airport security. -The leather is at least good quality, but the color has been scuffed on lumber and other hard things I bump my feet into. Black leather polish covers the scuffs nicely though. -Overall, the boots seem to be of good quality, but some of the stitching has frayed and had to be cut off. This doesn't affect performance and hasn't become a problem, but it worries me that these boots may not last as many years as the Belleville boots have. Final thoughts: These boots have performed slightly better than expected for the cost. I would recommend these for someone looking for a military style, safety toe boot. My only regret for this review is that I did not have a pair of new "Made in the USA" boots to compare with. Again, I am not part of the US military so I can't comment on adherence to regulations or performance while on duty and whatnot.

My new favorite pair of boots.
I've been putting these things through their paces the last few months. Initially I was concerned because there we some uncomfortable bits that I didn't think would break in. They took a little longer to break in than I expected, but they quickly became my MOST FAVORED pair of boots I've ever worn. Super comfortable. I do sweat a bit more than expected in these as venting is pretty much non existent...I'm also wearing these in the desert, so it's a little toasty. All in all, i'm super impressed with these boots. If you're on the fence, just get them. You won't regret it.

Decent Boot, Poor Business
Honestly, comfort wise and durability, they're decent, but do not order from here. Find it in store. Twice I ordered the Coyote and got sent Desert Tan both times. A $30 difference and the black ones are $35 more. Usually don't have that major price difference in store and if you do have a problem, you don't have to worry about Amazon trying to scam you with a partial refund that's half of what is owed and then trying to lie and pass it off like that was it.
