and they held like champs. Zero slipping on the rail
Two trips out, and these rod holders have been phenomenal. Tightening the clamps to my boat rail was a little sketch at first. There's about a 1/8" gap between the plates once they're placed around the rail, so I was worried that over tightening would snap the plastic as it started to flex. I tightened as much as I dared and went fishing the next day. Four rods in holders bottom fishing, and they held like champs. Zero slipping on the rail, and they held the rods great (yes, we were catching fish). What I like best is that if you lift the holders slightly and rotate 180 degrees, you can remove them completely from the rail clamp, which makes putting the boat cover on so much easier. If I had more room on my rails, I'd buy more.

Does the Job
This is a review for the "FISHINGSIR Fishing Rod Rack". I purchased (3) sets of these, which means I received (12) total racks. For attachment, I screwed up a set of 1"x4"x8' boards to my garage ceiling for strength, then mounted the FISHINGSIR racks (x6) across these boards. This gave me plenty of storage space for all my rods, kayak paddles, nets and stake out poles. Best of all, it gets everything up and out of the way instead of taking up so much space on a floor rack somewhere in the house or garage.Hanging or removing these items is easy enough and the racks seem to be somewhat durable. My only complaint is the lack of an offset for the mounting holes. In other words, I had to bend the racks back slightly for clearance to anchor the screws. In addition, the screws are some of the softest metal I've ever seen and easily rounded the head off without much effort. This is why I deducted one star from the rating. Otherwise, a solid and functional storage product for the money.

Great for shore based anglers
The ground around the lakes here in central Ohio is very tough. It is extremely difficult to get rod holders planted because of rocks or compacted soil. So, with the new fishing season approaching, I got one of these. This thing worked great during last Sunday's trip. I was fishing from the larger rocks on the shoreline with a fair amount of steady wind. The adjustability was needed so I could lower the rod tips down and still keep my reels from "banging" on other rocks. I am a believer on this product so far. It does feel a little light and the plastic locking snaps seem a bit frail, but as of now (with gentle handling), it should last awhile.

Best for small light gear
I bought this to store the growing mess of rods I had somehow horded over the years. I am mixed on the product. For the right application it would be great but for my usage, there are a few drawbacks.Pros:Very light and very well constructedEasy to assemble in a few minutesCould easily store a lot of small rodsCons:The way the unit stores rods, heavier rod/reel combos want to fall out. Example, my 9' trolling rod/Penn reel combos are too much for it. You have to turn them in towards the center of the rack which makes them hard to get out.It can store a large number of rods/reels as long as the reels can fit together. I can't put heavy spinning next to heavy level winds as the slots are too closeThe unit lack of wheels which I find I miss I need to move the rackIf you have a bunch of pan fish / light rods, rods without reels, or fly rods or even compact level winds, this might work better for you. If you have some larger reels / heavy salt water gear or similar, realize this rack will only hold 1/2 to 1/3 of its claimed capacity in a fashion they won't fall out or get tangled together.

What I like about these is that they hold the rods like ...
What I like about these is that they hold the rods like a cradle but not to hard like other rod holders. It installed easily under my overhead storage rack and holds 7 rods with ease. The old rod holder I had, was made of the foam that you squish the rods into, which gave away. These look like they will last a long time. Not to hard to install.

Easy to assemble
I bought one of those plastic rod racks for $23 bucks and needed more capacity (or less rods and reels which is NOT gonna happen). I would have bought another plastic one, but prices moved up and it is a bit small and wimpy. I saw this metal/aluminum one and decided it was worth the extra money and it is worth the extra money. Easy to assemble, sturdy, stable. Considering buying another as a gift for my brother in-law.

Best option for storing fishing rods, pipes, and flags overhead.
I bought two sets and filled them both up with fishing rods. I even used them to store flags for holidays. They work great! The coatings are a huge plus. I used to used Berkley Rod hangers that worked, but they was too easy to bump a fishing rod out while ceiling hung. With this product, nothing falls out. I will be buying more shortly.

A MUST have!
I LOVE this rod rack! It doesn't have the perfect spacing between rods if you choose to leave the reels on, but it does pretty good even with some having my ocean reels on them. I Definitely recommend this and the price is great.
