Dorman 741-578 Rear Driver Side Power Window Regulator And Motor Assembly Compatible with Select Cadillac / Chevrolet / GMC Models (OE FIX)

Every Dorman replacement part I've ever gotten for my 2001 Suburban has worked great, and this window regulator was no exception. After 20+ years of faithful service, the OE regulator finally gave out and seized up. Fortunately, I was able to get the window in the up position before it did. When I located the Dorman replacement on Amazon, I didn't hesitate a moment before ordering. Replacing one of these things is not a particularly hard job, but I've never done it on this truck, so, I had to take a little time checking out a few YouTube videos before I got started, which were VERY helpful. The part comes with a single page of decent written instructions, but if "a picture paints a thousand words," a good instructional video paints ten thousand. If you know what you're doing, this job should take about a half-hour or less. If you don't know what you're doing, it'll take longer, but still, not more than an hour or two. The OE came out pretty easily; the Dorman replacement fit perfectly into its place, and worked like a charm ... my window is back in action, for no more than the cost of the replacement part. Dorman/Amazon did the trick for me again. Five stars.

First purchased the Dorman-branded unit for my 2002 Silverado (original owner) in 2012 for driver side front and it's still working! It has now outlasted the OEM unit by 3 years and counting. It goes up noticeably faster; about 1 second quicker than the OEM, which is nice. Today, I replaced my driver side rear and works same as driver side front. Both fit perfectly.

So easy! Took about 30 minutes to install perfect fit. Has been inplace for over a month now without a problem. I think I will replace the other three as they are running slower and stick now and then. Fast shipping and fair price.

This is for rear driver-side window on a GMT-800 Suburban Dorman part #741-578. Woke up to my window being down. If you're reading this, you probably know the cables on Chevy regulators sometimes snap, letting the window drop into the door. I put some shims in it to hold it up and waited for this to arrive. Dorman is a known quantity. They aren't known for the best parts, or the worst. There is at least someone to call if you get a dud. Dorman can have a reputation of having parts that can be a bit fiddly, like they are a little bit off. This part looks good, fit in no problem and works flawlessly. I think this is going to be my go-to for regulators. They are almost as inexpensive as the non-name part, but there's at least a real parts company behind it. The one I put in my Nissan seven years ago is still working fine.
