The realism of Raphael's masterpieces are priceless. You feel the life in these paintings. What a pleasure to enjoy these treasures.The images and the story gives great insight into this legendary master.Though an IT guru for 37 years, and I have been part of the development of the digital age, I still prefer to view the great masterpieces on a printed page. Aside from viewing them in person, this is the better option.

Nothing to do with the seller but there is not a lot of Raphael art in this book. It's more like'his art was like so and so art.

For reasons I can't understand this book has no color plates of the glorious Constantine room that Raphael painted in the Vatican. It also offers no discussion of this important room. Potential buyers should be aware of this significant omission. To make matters worse, the color plates of Raphael's paintings in this book are very small, with a few enlarged details that often seem arbitrary. I returned this book to Amazon and will look for another that shows Raphael's Vatican rooms in their entirety, with larger plates that enable closer study.
