As expected
It is no surprise to me that this instrument is virtually perfect, being everything I expected. There is no internal mechanisms such as reeds or valves or pathways for breath. It's just a very highly refined "noise". And what a delightful noise it is. One gets two effects. One by shaking and another by twirling. Both work perfectly, and the wood is very nicely formed, no deformities at all.

This isn't authentic and the tone is to tinny. Only a skill pro with a decent mic set up will get a consistent tone. Still, like it and decided to keep it. This needs a break in period atleast 2years! Like most shekeres the older the better!

Very loud. I like it.
As for the sound it's everything I wanted it to be, but I'd like the beads to be of natural materials, and I've got plastic.
