A Pleasing Book for the Mind
Margaret Atwood has once again delivered a simply wonderful collection of her works. Being an avid reader of her work I delight in each new book she puts out. Her writing is so real one can almost feel, touch, taste, or be wherever she is writing about. There is a maturity and higher level of writing expertise that she possesses. I would almost dare to say she is a class of her own. An excellent book. I look forward to more in the future!Dorothy KruskyAuthor The Chrismas Cat - A Child's Christmas Story 2005 Life's Ride - A Journal of Poems 2007

A long-time favorite.
This is the best book of poetry I’ve ever read. I will read it many times throughout my life. Atwood is beyond description.

Good book, good author
This is a readable collection of dark poems by one or our great 20th-21st Century women writers. Read it but don't expect to laugh much.

Atwood is a wonderful poet, in addition to her many other literary talents (The Handmaid's Tale. etc.). Fans of Louise Penney's detective stories, set in Quebec, Canada, will be interested to know that some of the poetry attributed to the Ruth Pardo character in the books is really by Margaret Atwood (which Penney acknowledges),

They talk to my soul
I don't buy books of poetry. I was motivated by Louise Penny's series of mystery novels. She gleaned the essence of the poems in this book, and it made me go to the source. Very glad I did. They touch my inner being.

Atwood has better books
Not her best work, I for one did not enjoy many of the poems, they are too biased with political opinions

Definitely worth reading
Having enjoyed Margaret Attwood's novels, I discovered this book through the detective stories by Louise Penny! The poems are a fascinating look into the mind that wrote the novels - with the precision of a poet. Definitely worth a read, and a second read.

Excellent, even better than I expected from the reviews
Excellent, even better than I expected from the reviews. Not a "comfortable" read, but then Margaret Atwood has never aimed to comfort.
