DO NOT USE IN CHLORINE POOLS!!!!
Read the reviews, not just mine. I noticed some small spots of pink algae on my pool light, looked and found this stuff. Threw in half a bottle, turned pool green than back to normal and algae gone. HOWEVER, the pool will not hold any chlorine. Have salt generator turned to 100, dumping gallons of liquid chlorine in, wont keep chlorine. Start reading this product reviews.... and review after review after review of same problems, wont keep chlorine due to converting the pool to a bromide/bromine pool. Boy they aren't lying. Nothing is working. Im thinking of draining pool. Thankfully only 13000 gallons, but the cost of adding salt, alkalinity, ph etc is costly. This stuff works, but are you going to pay dearly.....

Be prepared
This product works but be prepared to add a lot of chlorine after use. I have a 24000 gal pool and it called for 2 lbs,, but I only added 1 lb and that was plenty. I had to super shock three times using 3 gal of liquid chlorine each time and then started using 1 gal of chlorine a day for one week and my pool is now back to normal. I was concerned reading all the reviews about bromine but after on week and some sunshine the bromine is now out of my pool. 'the pink slime is gone and the pool is crystal clear

Get ready to ……
Update and revised review. I gave this product a very harsh review last week. Here is what happened:I had several spring break beach going visitors every day x2weeks and then home & swimming in my pool. two days after their departure& overnight I have a cloudy pool and pink slime. ,Pink slime is a bacteria not an algae.I applied this product to my BLUE but cloudy pool and it immediately turned neon green.Yes, neon green..the green cleared after a few hours. Nowhere does the packaging warn this product turn your pool green and also gobbles up your chlorine. I add more chlorine and the pool immediately turns neon green again cleared in a few hours. This back-and-forth with a neon green pool and adding more chlorine every five minutes went on for three or four days finally no more neon green. Additionally, I have a wall climbing Wybot robot that I was putting in the pool taking it out cleaning the filter after each two hour run putting it back in the pool Wybot ran four hours a day every day and the slime got less and less every day.So here’s the bottom line this is what you need to know and please be aware of:I guess this product worked but who’s to say the unrealistic amount of chlorine I’ve added to myPool The last five days may have cleared it up anyway. It will turn your pool green. It will continue to do so for several days. You must vacuum your pool and clean your filter dailyRun your Filter 24 hours a dayBe prepared to add more conditioner and oodles and oodles of liquid chlorine during the process and finallyadjust the pH when it’s all finished. So I updated my review gave it an additional star only because the instructions are so so so lacking and I can’t say for sure if it was this product that cleared the slime or my due diligence and OCD attitude toward my swimming pool, which I have cared for for many years and have never never had a problem like this ever.Footnote : the container arrived half full. I’m not sure if someone used it and returned it and I got what was left. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this product, but I must honestly say none of the reviews are as detailed this one. Would I buy this product again? If I got slime again I don’t know, but I will say at least next time, I personally will know what I’m in for, but the manufacturer should be ashamed for not giving this information before purchase, but I suppose if they did no one would buy their product. And once it’s in your pool, you’re stuck with the consequencesGood luck and happy swimming.

Wow. Just. Wow.
We have an outdoor above-ground pool. Every summer I fight the white and pink tissue paper which is actually a mold. I've tried everything. Cleaning the entire pool and super chlorinating does nothing. We also have a large set of stairs. This is where the little buggers live. It loves dark places. I used this Pink Treat and within a day it was gone. I was amazed. A month later, the mold tried to come back but I hit it with the pink stuff and once again, it is gone. I think it returned because we forgot to check the pump filter enclosure. If you run your hands around the inside, all this mold starting coming off. Again, it loves dark places. If I only have to treat every month, that's fine with me. You must follow the directions for it to work. Scrub the entire pool and also check inside your pump where you put the filter. Also check the return where the basked is: another dark place. Treat with the pink stuff. Let it sit for an hour then super chlorinate. We put in an entire bag of shock. The next day we vacuumed up all the dead stuff on the bottom of the pool. I'm very impressed with this product and will definitely buy again if needed.
