Hanayama Metal Cast Puzzle Vortex

Great high difficulty level puzzle.

I gifted this to my husband for Christmas after reading reviews on how difficult it is to figure out. My husband is a metal fabricator/welder and I knew I had to get him the most difficult one. He can usually figure these things out in minutes! This one took two days for him to get apart. It is extremely tricky and perfect for the patient know-it-all in your life. I personally watched a YouTube video on how to disassemble it and still couldn’t figure it out. Each piece is stamped with a different name which are; A.Y, Hanayama & Vortex. They are each shaped differently and are made of metal. I will definitely be ordering more of these puzzles in the future! Now we just have to put it back together which will be another challenge. Haha!

Vortex is harder than any 6 Hanayama puzzle I own. For me it was right up there with Enigma. Challenging to take apart and a heck of a lot harder to put back together. Highly recommended!

Possibly one of the more challenging huzzles if not the most challenging. Someone wrote online that this is more like a level 7 puzzle and they don't even make a level 7. If you want a challenge then buy this one. It took me approximately 2 hours to get apart (part of it was luck) and about 14 hours to put back together.

I bought this and another metal puzzle(  Cast News - Hanayama Cast Metal Puzzle  ) for my father as a Christmas gift. I thought they would be great for him to have on his desk at work because they are visually appealing and serve as mental stimulation if he ever has down time during the work day. He liked them, and though I'm not sure he has figured them out yet, I know this puzzle is challenging, having tried to figure it out myself. The only thing that surprised me was how small the puzzle actually is maybe 4 inches circumference and fits in the palm of my hand. It has a nice weight to it and has an elegant appearance. I wouldn't recommend this for any child under the age of 10. Great for anyone who enjoys interactive puzzles and likes a challenge.

Holy crap. I've never felt compelled to leave an Amazon review, but wow! I ordered this on a Saturday and got it on a Monday. It was packed well and came with a nice little thank you card, a wallet calendar, and a pen. I don't even know what else this seller sells as of typing this, but the service was so great that I feel like I need to check it out. Won't hesitate to do more business with them!!

If you enjoy puzzles/brainteasers, this is for you. It's well made and price is reasonable. The product is as described and arrived as promised. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants’ a challenge. I would and will purchase from this seller again. I got this for my friend who is a huge math/science/puzzle nerd, and an adult. He normally solves these cast puzzles quite easily (even the ones rated challenging). He loved the novelty of this design and has spent many hours happily working on it! Not for people who are easily frustrated!

Probably my favorite of all the puzzles. Looks like an interesting puzzle maybe to have on a desk and test family members/friends! Also feels sturdy like it could take people pulling it in weird ways to try to solve it, unlike the Square Hanayama puzzle I have also reviewed.

TOP TEASER. 90 MINUTES TO DISASSEMBLE, 23 DAYS TO RE-ASSEMBLE. There is just one way to solve this masterly knot of twisted zinc-alloy. It will at times get locked like a shoelace, pieces in correct position need un-doing so one can move the wrong one, so I had to do more wrong ideas to position the next right one, so confusing. This puzzle would be easier if the three pieces were coloured differently from eachother, I even had to colour mine, blue, red and plain, this helped, and most (all) colour transferred to fingers, un-colouring my ink, and all was back to factory state colour.It is subjective, but I loved the struggle this puzzle offered cos it was so very hard to do.SUPERB if you like that kindda thing.
