Update:I was recently doing a two mile hike in these shoes when my foot slipped off of a half-submerged log and into the mud. I didn't think anything of it but I noticed after that my foot was sliding around a lot and realized that one of the straps popped out. I've had these shoes for about 6 months. I'd be surprised if I've put 20 miles on them, most of the time I use them for wet wading while fishing small creeks and rivers. Perhaps these aren't very water resistant and the adhesive holding the strap just gave out after being exposed to water. I emailed Tesla Gear and I will say their customer service was great and they issued me a full refund and told me I could do what I want with the shoes. I'll probably use some adhesive to see if I can put the strap back in. I'm going to get as much use as I can out of these but I don't think I would buy them again for my uses. If you plan on using these for short term hikes then I would say they will probably work fine, but I would try to keep them out of water if possible.I bought these shoes to wet wade in whenever I am fishing and they are just what I needed! I love that your toes are protected in these, so no banging on rocks or sticks in the water. The traction on these is pretty good. I did slip on some wet rocks and steep muddy banks, but I expected that to happen occasionally. The fit of the shoe was a little tricky. They look very much like tennis shoes, and usually I wear a size 11 in tennis shoes, but another reviewer mentioned that the heel "strap" isn't really a strap since there's no way to adjust how snug it fits to your heel, so I decided to go with a size 10 to be cautious, since they don't have half sizes. The 10 ended up fitting me perfectly so my feet aren't moving around inside the shoe whenever I walk. These shoes are very similar to a certain brand, and only cost a fraction of the price, while still being a quality product. I've only used them once so far but they held up very well. If they start to fall apart after a few uses I will definitely come back and update my review.

I received the shoes yesterday as expected. 2 day shipping... Removed from package and inspected. Great Look. I slipped the right shoe on and proceeded to tighten the elastic "shoe lace" and the elastic shoe lace broke... the left shoe is fine.The elastic can be replaced if you can find the correct size and then push through the eye holes... I tied the elastic piece together in a knot on the right shoe and is working OK.... I really don't want to go through the return process... to match the left shoe with the right shoe, I'm thinking about removing the "button" on the right shoe as well... the sizing was great... I wear a 10 and ordered a 10 ... the quality is Ok...I don't think the elastic is necessary to wear... unless you want to wear in an intense wading situation... to wear just around town is OK ... if you want to wear for an intense hike, then maybe you look at something else...I like the shoes as is and won't return... even with the defect... otherwise I would have given 5 stars... but I don't think the shoes are of a quality to wear in the wild...

These are superior soles and great sandals. I use them daily, and I am an avid sandal-wearer so I have some insight into what makes a versatile sandal. These appear to be of decent quality materials, especially the lower portion, but all-aroundm yet after some tugging, one of the side straps is starting to tear on th edge and I am fairly sure it will not make an easty fix. I am herein also writing the company to see if they will offer a replacement as I have other shoes [in the sam range - 30$] that stand behind their products firmly. There are shoes I've worn for three years that have not worn down at all.After three months of moderate use, I am sad to say that I can see the end of life for these, unless the company ships me a replacement or a newer model.... Will post a response to the thread if I hear back.

I bought these for a canoe trip but they've been such a good shoe I can keep them on all day long at the lake or a camping trip. I didn't think I'd wear these but temporarily when on the boat or near the water, like my last water shoes. But I've actually just went on a week long camping trip in colorado and wore these the whole time. Even on a short 3 mile hike. These slip on with ease and dry out quick enough that you can keep them on if you plunk your foot down in water. I have had these for a month and they've been saturated with water I've yet to have a problem where the sole squishes water for days. I don't know if my foot is shrinking but I used to wear size 9 sneaker, lately I've been buying 8-8.5 boots. These since I don't wear socks are a bit large at 8. Probably could have done size 7 for a snug fit. But I haven't had any problems on the size 8.

I really liked this shoe but I had to return it. The design and look are great, felt good, solid construction, firm, grippy sole, good fit for me (men's 10). The problem was when I went out in some rain I discovered that the soft, rubbery strap fabric is an absorbent, foam rubber kind of material that holds water. While my quick-dry shorts and t-shirt were dry in a couple of hours the shoes were still wet to the touch 2 days later. I can't be hiking or rafting and get my hiking shoes wet and have to walk in wet shoes for days. I really recommend these for looks, walking, hiking, just not for water-related sports.

These are awesome. I bought a year in advance for a trip I was going to take. I went to break them in a little and ended up wearing all summer long. I don’t typically wear sandals at all. Maybe flip flops. sometimes. These are comfortable and held up to quite a bit of abuse. Wore in the Dead Sea and was extremely glad to have but that water left a weird slimy film on them that kinda changed them forever. I don’t blame the sandal and will be purchasing another pair.
