Funny and thought provoking
I always read this to my 3-4 yr old preschool classes and it was always a huge hit. Kids love to laugh at the silly situations but it also encourage conversation as children verbalize why they make their choices. It's also such fun to see who chooses different things….'you'd rather eat slug stew?"Now my 4yr old grandson loves this book. Captures his sense of humor and his curiosity about the world.Hard to find now since it's out of print.

Great book!
I am a retired school principal and this was a favorite among my students. They love being able to interact with you as you read the story to them. It is also a great book to use as a springboard to writing. I've used this book with grades K-8th grade.

Fun, entertaining book. One of my favorites as a child!
This book as well as Avocado Baby were two of my favorite books as a child. The scenarios are funny and entertaining and I remember wanting to read this book over and over when I was younger. The illustrations are cute too :)

A little odd...but fun
This book ranges from the silly to the odd. It all depends on how comfortable you (or your kids) are with kid fears. It gets a little gross at times, but if you are comfortable with it, it can be fun. I know 3 boys (ages 3-5) who really enjoyed the ick factor of this book. It is also a really good springboard for discussions about making choices, especially for kids who see things in black and white. There are a lot of grey areas here.

Favorite book
This was my favorite book of all time when I was a kid. I have now purchased it for my daughter and added it to her collection of books.

I would rather share this book
I would rather share this book than get eaten by a snake. It's a fun read to get children choosing between two often gross, or ridiculous choices. Would have been even better if there were more harder to decide choices....

This was fun to read and the kids really enjoyed interacting with the book and discussing their choices of which things they would rather...

I would rather have this one !
This book is the best. In the past it led to endless "traveling in the car questions" between my two daughters when they would make up possible scenarios based on the location or the situation. So when it came time to give a new grandchild a "book" present I just had to have it..
