RothcoMonty Wool Beret

Allergic to wool that makes me itch I bought this lined beret which fits perfectly with its drawstring. The hat is made of a substantial wool or cotton and fits perfectly. I ordered a large, my normal size, and it worked out great although there is a drawstring around the sweatband to tighten it for a perfect fit. It has a full lining inside of some satin cloth and just looks great. The draw-band is housed in a vinyl leather enclosure/sweatband sewn to the hat and inner liner. For what it is worth there is no little string in the center of the top of the hat [thankfully].After I get through with these reviews I intend to order several more berets from this vendor.

This was our first experience buying a beret. My husband has lost his hair due to chemo and decided he'd like to try a beret. Not wanting to put a lot of money into it decided to try this Rothco beret. It's perfect. It looks really sharp on him...and me! The lining is nice and has adjustable ties in the back. Wish they had more colors for females, in this same style. I'd buy it in a minute. Very nice product.

Hard to find a good beret these days which isn't military surplus or cheap dollar store costume junk. This is a nice beret for the price and it will fit men, which is a plus. I was taking a trip to France and we were all getting berets made up. Many of my friends purchased more inexpensive ones, thinking we were basically only buying them for one photo/event, so why spend a lot? When I saw the quality of their berets for half the price of this one, I was glad I spent the extra.If you do plan on wearing this for a while ... it is well made. The 'felt' isn't the cheapest kind, though it is also not the more expensive kind found in the military style berets. This is likely made in China and probably wouldn't last you 5 years of wear but it won't wear out in a year or two either. It has a faux leather band and an annoying tassel in the back, which I cut off. Not sure what that is there for.For a man, the beret fits nicely. Not too loose, not too tight. It looks good when worn slightly askew and mine is black and the color is fine. It's comfortable to wear but I would worry about the plastic-y faux leather cracking in which case, it would not be comfortable to wear. For the price though, I doubt you'll find anything as nice from a hat standpoint.Will I wear these out a lot? Nope. Did it serve its purpose well? Yes. It's not the cheapest beret on here but you get what you pay for!

I bought this beret in black for my husband. He said he used to have a black beret years ago and he wanted a new one. But he didn't want me to spend much money. The price is pretty reasonable even including shipping costs.The beret is true to size. It has a nice wool beret with a satin lining. My husband says that the fabric is not as thick as the one he used to have years ago, but he still likes it. (I think he looks goofy in a beret. When he wears it with sun glasses, he looks like Hugo Chavez.)The beret was purchased on Amazon.com from Captain Dave's. The delivery was incredibly fast. It arrived sooner than some items I arrived the same day with my Amazon Prime account.

This is a great beret. it is warm, well made and looks and fits great.

I have to say, this looks quite good and feels much better than the price would lead. Very pleasantly surprised!

ok for the price paid

Hubby loves berets. He lost the one he had for a long time, so I tried to find him a quality one to replace it. Went through several and returned them all. this one is very god quality and hubby loves it. Recommened.
