As my wife started teaching Spanish this year in our school district for the high school, she found herself in the position of needing to populate a classroom with the items that will engage and educate the kids at the same time.A tip that she was given by the previous teacher in that position is to not forget that these are still kids and will glom onto the stuff they remember from childhood with a Spanish spin.Enter the series from Keepsake stories.A great collection of the childhood classics including both the English and Spanish translations for teaching the kiddos and letting them hear the stories in both languages in order to hear the cadence and patterns of speaking the words out loud.And to top it off, these were cheaper than grabbing from a teacher supply site that advertises the desire to help the teacher...

I help immigrants learn English by reading these simple fairy tales which are in English and also Spanish. They read the English and afterwards I read the same thing in Spanish and ask them to help me with my pronunciation. We are both leaning and teaching at the same time!

Love these books! My husband can read to our daughter in English and I can read to her in Spanish. Book is bright, so it keeps her attention.

It's a good book, just think the illustrations could've been a lot better.

This is excellent - a familiar story told very simply with parallel text in English. My 4-year old granddaughter tells me that sleeping beauty's name is Aurora; in this book she is called Briar Rose. The illustrations are a bit strange, but it's a fun book and not too long.
