Destination Wedding

I know this received mixed to negative reviews but I think it's one of those really peculiar films that grow on you. A little in the vein of Woody Allen {who I detest!!!} so I was very wary at first but it drifts along without losing its appeal and is gently funny rather than laugh out loud...and that's it's charm. Winoa and Keanu are so right for roles and I like it...so there!

I havent had so much laugh recently than whilst watching this movie. The subtle ironic humor is what really takes the story forward and there is a great chemistry between the characters. I love the dialogues I think this is where this understated comedy really shines. If you are looking to have a chilled, bit off beat comedy for a night in, bring the chocolate bar and get cozy whilst watching the story unfold.

This movie is about two people who meet in an airport and instantly dislike each other. They then find they are going to the same place and by design or accident are together most of the time. Of course love (or sex) raises it's head and the inevitable happens. The joy of this film is the dialogue; funny, witty, intelligent and amusing. If you want John Wick or the Matrix then go elsewhere but this is movie for people who love movies. Apparently Keanu and Winona are married in real life.

This film is really boring, boring conversations, boring scenes, boring dialogue. It has no pace to it, i think the main characters are both great actors and their talent is wasted in this movie where they don’t stop talking to each other like robots, and no other characters are brought into the story which makes it worse in my opinion.

Great Direction, Excellent Photography. This is a superb two-hander. Great script, well it would have to be. For me a totally memorable line in answer to "How did he get the gig" reply " He ............d the bride and the groom". Super humour, very dry, it just works as a very memorable film. Loved it. Highly Recommended

I loved this film and am just rewatching it. It is funny in a very dry way. It focuses in on the two main characters, neither of which are very likeable, who form an unlikely alliance. Different and, if you click with the humour, highly enjoyable.

I’m writing this review while watching the movie. That’s how bored I am. I’ve loved Keanu Reeves for a long time, but I think I’ve never found him unsexy as I do during this. The film is just Keanu and Winona talking. Talking at each other. Talking over each other. Endlessly talking. Keanu must have got the script and wondered how he was supposed to memorise all these incomprehensible lines. There’s no other interaction with any other characters. Just the two of them. Talking. You’ve got a huge (!) segment talking about Frank’s (Keanu) penis, which is baletically formed. I kid you not: Lindsay: Would you like to know about you? Frank: No. Lindsay: Yes you would. You're very handsome... And you have a beautiful penis. Frank: I do? Lindsay: Oh come on Frank. Surely people have told you that your entire life. Frank: No. Lindsay: Well it's very nice. It's straight, and you would not believe how epidemic a problem that is. Also it's baletically formed. It's not so big as to ever be a concern, but it's big enough never to be the object of ridicule or scorn. You're in a very sweet spot there. Frank: Are you saying that Keith's penis is not straight? Lindsay: Can you imagine that we would have gone this entire weekend without saying these things to each other? Frank: Balletically formed? Lindsay: That's right There’s one of the most unsexy love scenes that I’ve ever seen. They talk constantly during this act of love making, which seems shoehorned into the storyline as there’s no chemistry during Winona and Keanu. And that tie - take it off. If I was to subject a boyfriend to watching this, I feel we would be both so turned off after watching this scene that we would never touch each other again. I was dry afterwards. I feel I will never feel turned on again. What was with the constant unable-ness to open anything? There’s a consistent struggle to open packets of peanuts, chocolate, bottles of wine, car doors and an ongoing discussion about whether an animal they stumbled upon was a mountain lion/puma/raccoon (I joke.) I’m glad I only paid £3 for this dvd, as I would have resented paying anything more than that. It didn’t hold my attention and I would not recommend it. I don’t even thinking drinking alcohol would help make this film more enjoyable.

What a little gem! A two-hander - and what skilled hands. Great script, witty dialogue, wonderful performances. I can't believe I'd never come across it before. Do you yourself a favour and don't let it slip past you.

Heute kam der von mir vorbestellte Film. Herrliche Dialoge, spritzig, quirlig und teils mit einer wunderbaren Bösartigkeit. Wer schwarzen Humor mag, kommt voll auf seine Kosten.Die Kommentare sind böse & bissig, wie sie kaum schlimmer sein könnten …. – Ich habe herzlich gelacht. Als Beispiel „Das Herz scheint mit uns zu machen was es will …..oder was der Schrittmacher erlaubt“. Dialoge über geklaute Hotelutensilien lassen einen Anteil nehmen und sind mehr wie köstlich. Schön das wir Menschen so skurril sind.
